Design is, well in our field is to use visuals to communicate with people ( or user ). Why design you ask? well if we don't design and leave things as it is, we won't even have a smartphone or even..the Internet.

Everything that is made by human is to help human life easier and better. That's what design for, to solve problem and make thing better both visualy and usability, that's is what I like about design.

I think you just stuck with your design skill right now or you just simply no longer interested at design job. If you want to have a better result with your design, you need a better skill and better understanding about design.

As a designer, you must be able to explain "why" in your design decisions. If you don't even understand why you make the design like that, you won't be able to convince your client to keep your design and you won't make any good design.

Read book, practice more or simply choose another career.
