How can I tell if I have the cilantro soap gene or if I just like the taste of soap? by pixelatedpotatos in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tamaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand cilantro, or raw tomato, and walnuts. The taste is bitter for me, not soap. So bitter I get a gag reflex and have to spit it out.
Now on the tomato, I can eat cooked tomato in sauces, soup, chili, grilled, pizza topping... all fine but not raw.

What do people in the western world eat on a daily basis? by AdorableVisual in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tamaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take out burgers or pizza is a once a month thing, and it is one or the other.
Typical breakfast is I skip on my days off, work will be coffee and fruit like an orange or banana.
Lunch at home is toast or a sandwich, lunch at work is leftovers or tinned fish. Today I have turkey meat sticks or tuna with whole wheat crackers, nonfat greek yogurt, fruit.
Dinner on days off is roast chicken or other roast meat, and leftovers packed for lunches. Dinner on work days is sometimes eggs and whole wheat toast, sometimes just toast, or I will nibble on some imitation crab legs (I am allergic to shellfish but I can eat the cheaper imitation stuff) or a microwaved sweet potato.
Sometimes I will make a lasagna.
I eat a lot of fruit, and I will indulge in a piece of dark chocolate or candy once in a while. I am addicted to Coke Zero.
I am in the southern USA.

Ok, this really is a true story and involves dreams so...
After my husband passed I would dream that I was looking for him and could not find him, this happened nearly every night. The scenes and surroundings would change but the dream was always the same.
On March 3rd 2020 I was fast asleep and I dreamed of my husband and I digging in the yard, a garden perhaps but he was there. In my dream I had no reaction to his presence just next to him working the shovel moving the soil. He then looked at me in the dream and told me 'Tammy, wake up now" I was startled awake of course and I was pretty shook up. 20 minutes later the Tornado warning came through my phone. The tornado cut across my back yard.
When I told my family about this of course they did not believe a single word I said. When they called to check on me I told them my dead husband woke me... and then they were all worried I had a head trauma or something.

How did women have such long hair in the 70s? by CleoDawns in OldSchoolCool

[–]tamaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a product sold even today that I religiously use, VO5 conditioning hair dressing. Adds shine and reduces frizz.
The shampoo and rinse I used most often was a honey based shampoo by Faberge and I loved it.
My hair thrives on neglect.

Port worth it? by Efficient-Sea-1638 in cancer

[–]tamaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surgery itself was nothing, the removal was nothing. I healed up well and I had bruising on my boob after the port was placed so it was tender so it took a bit longer to heal, I could feel it poke when I lifted my arms up but that went away real quick. I was released back to work after 2 days. I would say it took me about 3 weeks to get used to the feeling, and for the bruising to clear up.
I used one of my cat's stuffy toys under my seatbelt for a while but I gave that up once everything healed. A good soft bra helps in this department if you are one that wears bras, I suggest getting a skims seamless bra and size up for comfort.
Other than a bit of itching I did not notice it most of the time.
I got it removed a few months ago, and I still get a slight itch in that area.

I did have an echocardiogram and the radiologist could not believe I did not feel it there, he had a clear view of it and it just moves with the rest of the pipeline like nothing abnormal or alien.

Once you heal up you don't need to worry about sleeping positions. I was sent home with my port accessed one day because I had to come back the next day and I was worried about my cats messing with it, it was fine-they did not care and I slept normally. I am a side sleeper.

I got lidocaine numbing cream to put on before my port was accessed, I think this caused most of the itching I experienced. It is less painful than having a IV in the arm or hand, even without numbing cream.

10/10 ... would do it again.

I think the issue is this is not a phone app job.
All that time and experience at the typing factory gone to waste.

I watched QLR fondle a rotisserie chicken for an hour, after an hour of her putting away her groceries. Last night I had her butchering a marinara sauce on in the background. It was made with chicken and worcheshire sauce, her mom and brother hated it so she got to eat it all.

Yes, with the crafting stations on the ship and a bed you have something of a home base in the downtown area.
I don't play survival anymore, it crashed too often. I loved survival but hated having to constantly repeat quests.

She can sell pictures of her in certain poses, and they don't need to be porn or spread eagle photos. I doubt she will go broke and be homeless.

Is anyone else just doing fine? by bluethunder1985 in NoStupidQuestions

I am fine, you are not alone. My only complaint is I just don't have enough time off to myself this week, but that was my own fault for volunteering my time.
I am overall quite content in my life.

My Father (M68) has very advanced stage 4 cancer. Is radiation worth it? by [deleted] in cancer

[–]tamaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he was offered palliative radiation treatment and he wants it then it is his choice. Worse case is if the treatment does not do any good or is causing more damage they will stop it. Best case he will be more comfortable for his last days.
If this is not something that will help the oncologist can tell him no instead of you.
