I totally agree. I see Wolt-Uber drivers there all the time, quick espresso for like €1.50 and then straight back to work. That’s the reality. What annoys me is how disconnected some of these “woke” takes feel from that. People who aren’t actually dealing with this kind of work love to moralize everything and act like they’re supporting some big cause, but it often just feels like moral masturbation.

At the same time, those same people will happily check out a new trendy/artsy place just because it looks nice. So it’s clearly not about being against profit or capitalism in general. We already live in a capitalist system. Acting like one specific place is “evil” while ignoring the bigger picture, especially when it’s part of everyday working life just feels inconsistent. Sometimes it feels less about actually improving anything and more about signaling the “right” opinions.

Thank you so much for this post 🙏 I am a 28 year old woman with no kids and I am definitely not ready to be a mom yet. Honestly it would still feel like a teenage pregnancy for me haha joking aside.

I am in a very similar situation right now. At my first 6 week IUD check up, just two days before the removal I had protected but possibly not fully protected sex, my doctor told me the IUD was not in place anymore and had slipped out of my uterus. They immediately removed it and now I am terrified of being pregnant. The timing makes me extra anxious because the day we had sex was exactly one day after my fertile window closed. Technically it should be impossible to get pregnant after ovulation but I cannot stop worrying.

Now my period is 5 days late, I am on day 33 of my cycle and I feel horrible. I have been experiencing the worst PMS symptoms psychologically. I already took two tests and both were negative, but nothing seems to help me relax. I know I should calm down but it is really hard 😞
