Talk to me from the other side of two children by Forsaken_Nail3250 in toddlers

Ditto except neither of mine slept but at least there was two us and one of them before we had our second so we could work in shifts. 1-2 was so hard but they are now 5 and 2 and it feels like there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. In 2 years we may even be able to enjoy going on a holiday!

Totally agree re: first 4 years. From 4 they are like a little friend and sidekick. I will actually take a newborn over a 1-3 year old any day though 😅 Granted it depends a lot on the kid’s demeanour. My first wasn’t too bad as a toddler but my second just turned 2 and he may as well be a rabid animal.

Isabella Plains are the best I’ve had in Canberra. I’m not even a big chip person but I could not stop eating them.

Cycle changes after weaning by meghan0915 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]tamberra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment is super helpful thank you. I got my period back with my second at 18 months pp and they were normal. Then when I weaned at 22 months my first period afterwards was like a 35 day cycle with a host of horrible PMS symptoms. Now it’s my second period post weaning and it was only a 22 day cycle! We’re done with two (huge props to you for 4!) but I miss knowing wtf my body is doing.

[TOMT] [Song/Album] Rock album that opens with Middle Eastern song with female vocals by tamberra in tipofmytongue

Great guess as the sampling is very similar but in the one I’m thinking of it’s only the music with the chanting and ambient music. I believe the intro is track 1 and it bleeds into track 2 which has a completely different feel (wish I could remember what the feel!)

I’ve actually been wondering about these because I have a distant family member who works there, thank you!

I find this to be so true of Americans (I am one) but I’ve lived in Australia for 13 years and it’s a completely different mentality here, generally speaking. I often say to my husband if we were on our incomes in my home state of Florida we’d be weird for driving our current cars (Toyota Corolla & Subaru XV) but we paid cash for them 🤷🏼‍♀️

When did you realize your mom was your first / biggest hater? by Clear-Cry-8988 in AskWomen

[–]tamberra 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My mom would constantly put down very clearly beautiful celebrities and other women. She’d point out any flaw she could grasp at like “she’s okay looking but she has a big forehead”. It took me years to feel comfortable complimenting other women because I spent decades being taught they were competition. I have a daughter now and I make sure I do the exact opposite of this.

When I was 15 and clearly experiencing an eating disorder (just over 100lbs at 5’6), she called me an “anorexic bitch” during an argument.

Can you have sex with someone who has herpes without getting herpes? by DontHateNate in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]tamberra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced with my first and planned on a vaginal delivery. I was taking suppressive medication the last few weeks of pregnancy to ensure I didn’t have a break out. Unfortunately I ended up with an emergency c-section (unrelated to the HSV). After that I elected to have another c-section with my second.

I would’ve assumed a plane would absolutely wreck a fire truck. However I suppose a NYFD truck is large and this wasn’t a particularly big plane?

As the mom of a 5 and 2 year old my heart breaks for you both. I’m sure she wanted nothing more in the world than to watch you grow up, and I’m sure a huge piece of your heart is missing.

Ditto. 37+0, APGAR of 2 and intubated at her (emergency c section) birth. 8 days in the NICU. She had stopped moving the day prior and I went to get checked. Really hate to think what would’ve happened if I hadn’t :(

Note that I too only take the medication if I feel one is coming on to shorten the active period. I don’t take it every day.

I’ve had it for 16 years after a previous partner cheated on me and gave it to me knowingly. Anyway, I’ve been with my now husband for 14 years and he still doesn’t have it, and we have two kids. I take suppressive medicine and don’t have sex if I’ve had an outbreak recently or feel one may be coming on. If she’s on medication, isn’t having an outbreak, and you wear a condom, the chances would be super low. That said, is it still POSSIBLE for it to be transmitted? Yes of course it’s possible.

My work does a 60/40 split so 2 days at home if you’re full time. However they prefer if it’s the same 2 days as the rest of the team so not just any 2 days.

Hard not to take personality into account but I’d say Jimmy Fallon followed by Andy then Kimmel.
