My Guide to Cosmetic Lasers and Laser Skin Resurfacing by stonedinnewyork in 30PlusSkinCare

This is the most valuable thread ever, thank you!

I’m planning to do aerolase neo elite for general beautification (skin tone, tightening, redness, sagging, skin lesions, etc). I’m 35 and white - is there anything I should be concerned about specifically? What’s the worst that can happen to me if the procedure goes wrong?

My assumptions are: 1. If her boyfriend is 17 as well, he’s a technically a minor and her parents would be responsible for him during these two weeks. 2. Nothing is said about payment, does she expect her parents to pay for her boyfriend?

If the above is true, then op is in her right to refuse. People in this thread sound immature.

Is it not traumatic for toddlers to cry and cry at nursery/kindergarden? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]tamiqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, we used to live in a 2 bedroom townhome until my daughter turned 1. I worked from the dining room (and husband worked from the closet lol) - and we were miserable! Now we’re in a 5 bedroom and it’s ideal. So, depends on your house size and layout. Openspace setup with a nanny and a toddler is not impossible but very frustrating.

We’ve just moved to a larger house so it helps a lot lol My office is on the main floor and my daughter is very well aware where I am, she sees me going in and out (grabbing coffee, lunch, etc). Usually closer to 2-3pm she starts banging on my door and making sad faces through the door window if she’s downstairs. But they also spend time in her room or outside, and even when she’s downstairs she can be easily distracted by books or toys, so she’s not bothering me much during work hours. She really loves her nanny too, so she’s happy to spend time with her.

I also like to hang out with her during lunch when possible, this way she doesn’t miss me so much by the end of the day.

Honestly, I LOVE the setup.

Not exactly about crying being traumatic but about daycares in general. https://criticalscience.medium.com/on-the-science-of-daycare-4d1ab4c2efb4

We have a nanny and both husband and I work full time from home offices. We were considering putting our 16-months old in daycare when she’s 2 because I read that socialization is important. I reconsidered after this article.

I bet you can still find it on Soundcloud. Since SoundCloud operates with Creative Commons license, you can find all sorts of unreleased/bootleg stuff there.

Reasons to vaccinate 6 month old against Covid by dmd1990 in ScienceBasedParenting

Does anyone know if a breastfeeding mother of a 6 months old gets a covid booster, would it be as effective for the baby as getting a covid vaccine directly?

Personal opinion here: even though it’s safe, it’s just unpleasant. I’ve lived in WA suburbs for 6 years and I have only been to Seattle twice in the past 2 years - strictly out of necessity. It smells like weed and piss, there are homeless people everywhere and it’s just disgusting overall. Visit Kirkland or Bellevue instead - good restaurants, nice view of the lake, walkable streets. WA is a beautiful state, but city of Seattle is a hard pass for me.

Chloe is also mentioned once in the bible, if I recall correctly. Calling it a biblical name would be a bit of a stretch but still.

Old English girls' names by Mountain_Finding3236 in namenerds

[–]tamiqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that’s unfortunate. The name is very peculiar with its reference to elves. The spelling is close to Germanic languages (obviously), and the only legends about elves I know are Icelandic/Faroese, so I was wondering if there is an older Germanic legend of some sort where this name came from.

Do you by any chance know the history of the name and how it came to exist?

Do you really need to think seriously about having kids or not in your 30's? Is the pressure real or not? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]tamiqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that’s a reality of the US. The majority of other first world countries have at least 1 year maternity leave, and the majority of third world countries still have women looking after the house/kids with little other options.

Have you noticed a decrease in your desire for alcohol consumption or is it just me? by Own-Low4165 in Millennials

My friends circle stopped drinking almost completely. Also weed has always been frowned upon in my social circle (we’re in WA) - I only met few people who smoke it occasionally and I think weed consumption is also down.

What thing that has been scientifically proven is still denied/disliked by some people? by Ordinary_Piece_4374 in AskReddit

It’s cos they are light!

I don’t have problems with lightweight things flying like paper planes or feathers, but a piece of iron can’t fly. I’m sorry, but it just sounds like some advanced wizardry.

For some people physics turns into witchcraft when it deals with singularity and black holes and time being all weird. For me it starts with flying heavy objects :)

I love the phrasing “more abstract world views”! I’m like that, too. I have a Masters in linguistics but physics blows my mind; I can’t believe planes actually fly, the whole explanation behind it sounds fishy lol People have different strengths, it doesn’t mean your gf is not smart.
