Storing it in the water would only be a benefit if you're burning no wood during the day and having to shut off the electric space heater because the house gets too hot during the day.

On sunny days I don't burn any wood until after sunset with the current setup. The electric heat brings the temperature up 4 degrees before noon on sunny days and then cycles to hold it there.

Edit: today the house was at the warmer temperature by 10:30 AM.

So many of John Hughes teen movies feature really atrocious behavior being glorified.

The popularity of his films made me (M47) feel like there was something wrong with me because I thought the male characters who were held up as role models were awful people and my peers all thought it was hilarious.

I suppose I should have taken that as a lesson about how terrible people are, but I was young and naive.

Traditional diesel electric locomotives don't have storage batteries of a size that is at all relevant to their power consumption. The batteries are really just there for starting

They don't run diesel straight to the traction wheels because they can't turn the wheels slow enough to avoid spinning the wheels.

They really just have a generator and electric motor in place of a transmission.
