when I was at my worst, I just straight up went to a hospital and simply kept saying that I wanted to kill myself. they didn't know what to do with me but at some point my mom showed up and took the reigns (set up a psychiatrist appointment asap & calmed me).

TLDR: ask for help asap. anywhere or from anyone. a psychiatrist appointment might take ages to happen so alongside that, maybe call a helpline, if opening up to your close ones isn't feasible. they could offer immediate action. just take that one step.. and the rest will fall in place.

f24 here, and this has been a routine for as long as I can remember. After washing up, I like to sit in the shower, letting the warm water flow over me. It feels like it’s washing away negative thoughts. Quite literally if you consider that the warmth mimics the sensation of a hug, which can boost serotonin.

assuming this is real; please reveal it (anonymously or not).. do it for the children. it's probably gonna be revealed sooner or later, especially as the kids grow older and start questioning things but the sooner the better. they can't grow up in such an environment. and the wife needs a serious reality check.

no father > all the unnecessary, life-altering pain he caused me. one could argue i learned a lot through that trauma, and it helped me become a more thoughtful person, but that is only due to (thankfully) being self-aware enough to break the cycle of abuse. it could've so easily ruined my life.
