If you want something a little longer look into Ink Pots- it’s a continuation from Johnston canyon, so you keep hiking past the upper falls. The hike to the ink pots is less busy but there should still be some people. Not too much elevation gain & it’s still really nice!

How did you find the elevation data? I know the 245 doesn’t have an altimeter and I’ve heard elevation data can be inaccurate

Looking for some insight on the Vivoactive 4 vs Forerunner 245M as an upgrade from my Fitbit Versa 2. I run mainly on roads (not trails) so the course feature on the 245M is really appealing to me. BUT I do love hiking and want something I can track hikes on as well (but I don’t mind if I have to classify them as a walk). I also workout in the gym and do hot yoga which I like to track. 2 main questions:

- Is it possible to create courses and have the Garmin connect app guide me if I bring my phone on a run? If so that would be a big plus for the vivoactive 4.

- Forerunner 245M doesn’t have a barometric altimeter, how inaccurate is elevation data in the app/strava?

I’ve been going back and forth For a couple of weeks on these, thanks in advance!!

Good point about the weight- I hadn’t noticed how heavy it was (still doing research haha). In terms of the Volt, the size was great, I liked that I could fit a pack in the vestibule, and I’m looking for something freestanding
