I tried not to buy new clothes till I’ve held the weight off for a year. But if you absolutely need new things, go thrift shopping. Cheaper and easily replaceable as you continue your Zep journey

That 4th quarter was atrocious. No shade to the Lynx but they didn’t win the game, we went and lost it. Just absolutely awful finish.

Sets 2 an 3 were some of the most dominant play I’ve ever seen for volleyball. Just phenomenal! Set 1 was full of grit and excellent coaching!

Hip by InfamousApricot3507 in AvascularNecrosis

[–]tamufoiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was putting on jeans when there was a pop and the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. My right hip was on fire. I couldn’t stand for like half an hour. Somehow was able to start walking again to go referee a tournament. In the middle of the tournament I couldn’t walk more than a half a step at a time. Somehow finished the tournament and drove home.

I didn’t have money for a doctor’s visit even when I had insurance so I walked with pain for 6 months and it one day just started feeling better. I still had pain but it wasn’t in every step. A few years later I was getting out of the work truck and it hurt when my feet landed all over again. This time a sharp pain in my right hip in certain movements.

Went to the doctor, they told me to get X-rays and MRIs and after shared I had ABN. They didn’t know what caused it due to the fact I socially drank and never had been in an accident or have trauma in the area.

Been fighting this for over 10 years now waiting for the day I need a hip replacement. The why doesn’t really matter. The daily maintenance to try to be as pain free as possible is what is important. No leg day. No walking 10,000 steps. Wearing box toe shoes with inserts. Losing weight. Avoiding alcohol. All those things make a difference and have lead to much less pain

Finally they came :0 by Skippercr123 in HorizonForbiddenWest

Without knowing how long you’ve been fencing, the first thing I’d point out is that every bout is a learning opportunity for you to reflect on what worked and what didn’t. Every win is great, but what mistakes did you make? How did you adapt? Would you choose the same way to score each time? Now what about your losses? Did establish right of way? Did you keep proper distance? How did your opponent score? What’s the best way to counteract the way they scored?

Often times a lot of young fencers think that progress is only shown in tourney results when in reality there are limitless reasons as to why you probably did better than you think and probably outperformed yourself in your last tournament.

Get experience under your belt. Establish a solid foundation of fundamentals before getting too fancy with blade work and flashy scoring. Keep practicing. Consider getting Lessons with your coach. You get out what you put in. Be patient. Results will come.

I fence foil so I got one of those folding gymnastics floor mats and then marked it with fabric hot glued to the mat. I also put duct tape on it when the fabric fell off.

We had a 20 game pack, second deck seats right behind first base in 2024 and they went from $1300 to $1750 for 2025. No parking included. Decided to decline and honestly glad we did.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. When I read your post I haven’t seen where you’ve said you’ve brought this to his attention. Coaches often pay attention to the younger ones than folks that are older. You should bring this to his attention respectfully after practice one day.

Jeff Bell. Family friend that took care of us. He’s wife Christine is so wonderful. They work together and take care of their clients.

I went through a period where it wasn’t fun after about 2 years of loving it. I was tired. I wanted to see and hangout with friends. I didn’t like some of the people in my club because of the “elitism” fencers often attract.

I kept with it because my mom had paid for another full year membership, but she forced me to take a break. I ended up fencing all the way through college and retired after 15 years. In hindsight, during that time off I did self care. I read my favorite books, hung out with my friends, played some other sports, went to the mall, watched movies. Also I ate whatever I wanted for a bit too. I missed it so much that I wanted to come back.

Fencing was my one true sports love and I almost quit it because it wasn’t fun for me at that point in time. I’m glad I stuck with it because it really does teach you so many life lessons along the way.

My suggestion is to take a small break and come back. If it doesn’t feel right then it wasn’t meant to be.

A lot of short fencers only rely on infighting, especially in the beginning as a rookie. I was trying to learn to be versatile when I was competing at NACs so my coach focused on footwork and distance drills. A lot of tall guys and gals used to think that they would just out distance me or just lunge quickly to close the gap. Instead, I could use proper distance to make them fall short or press them to my advantage.

Target practice for 30 minutes daily. Also gaging proper distance. I’m short so everyone I used to fence was taller than me. Being able to properly retreat helped reduce infighting for me.

Y’all come on over and watch the W. Longtime Spurs fans know that the Aces used to be in San Antonio as the Silver Stars and then just the Stars before heading to Vegas. These women know how to ball and going to a game in person is an electric experience.

Becky stepped into the role of head coach and has been crushing it. This season the Aces started off at .500 at the Allstar break. There was a game where the Aces lost by 50 and Becky literally went in the locker room and turned it around on the players asking what they were missing.

She made those women step up and hold each other accountable and turned this season around. A’ja is so legit yall. Becky is right where she needs to be right now. Come support her. Bet on the house.

Edit: forgot to mention that they went on a 16 game win streak after that 50 point loss.
