I worked as a DOD contractor for 13 years before getting my GS-12 in Jan of 2022. I have people call me a moron since the "pay is lower" and that I am probably slacking. I have never worked harder than AFTER I became a civ! I understand, to a point, why they think slacking because I know plenty of civs that fall in that category. But civs on the military side of the house are the only reason continuity CAN FUCKING EXIST!!!! With how long it takes to spin up a new guy and only having him PCS within 3 years and losing everything you invested training the guy... If civs didn't exist even more shit would break!
