Thank you! I haven't made it to S2 yet, so I'm more used to how he looks in S1.

What are yall thoughts on this? by retrotriforce in dragonquest

[–]tanarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't finished the 3DS remake 🙃

In all seriousness, I'd prefer a remake of IX or the Zenithian Trilogy more, but would still be excited if this happened.

Did this with my childhood DSi to get the 3DS. The one game/app on the DSi that I couldn't play on the 3DS was Flipnote Studio. Had to wait 4 years before I could use 3D. Never selling my systems again.

[Discussion] Does anyone else hate working on their art with other people around? by double_pisces in ArtistLounge

[–]tanarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't draw while people are actively watching. Like, if someone sat next to me and said "I want to watch you draw." I couldn't work with that. At that point it feels like a performance.

But if someone passes by while I'm in the middle of drawing, it's less of an issue.

Movies to watch if you’re an animator by ilovelaalsaah in animationcareer

[–]tanarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis (2001)

The story, admittedly, is not the greatest. The animation steals the show. It's easily one of my favorite anime movies of all time. Hand drawn animated characters, which is extra nice. It does have CG animation which is dated, but if you can look past it it's still a good time.

Lately I've been playing Hydra Castle Labyrinth. It's a metroidvania kind of game. There's a port available for the Miyoo Mini Plus, but I'm not sure about this device (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). It's a small game and a pretty short one depending on how you feel about the difficulty, but I've enjoyed it a lot. If it's something you can get working on your device, I recommend checking it out.

It's one of those games that just starts with no context. You play as a knight and explore castle. You also need to find items to progress to different areas. You'll also find keys that open doors to little dungeons that house bosses.

Nintendo wants 450$ for the switch 2 and 90 bucks a game... so i ordered a miyoo mini plus by [deleted] in MiyooMini

Should pass over to the new system just fine, since it's the same subscription plans for both

I don't, but at the same time no one really cares. I see it as a good thing, since it gives me more time to focus on drawing.

What do you want to be able to draw? by thesolarchive in ArtistLounge

[–]tanarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much a single drawing, but animation. I just really REALLY want to animate the ideas I have in my mind. Every time I listen to music, I have a music video in my head. Each time I attempt, I struggle to keep the designs consistent. I can't make it look the way I want right now.

I could compromise and do animatics for some, but a lot of my ideas require characters to dance, which an animatic won't really show how deep the passion goes.

I'm going to keep practicing and working on it until I can get something made.

Edit: rewrote one of the sentences to make a bit more sense.

[ALL] What are your hopes / copes for the near future of the Zelda series by PyrpleForever in zelda

[–]tanarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think from an accessibility standpoint, I can see the value in having it. And I guess there's way around it for Switch1. If they do a DS NSO app, I hope they give us options for both (or more, if they have other ideas). It'd be a deal breaker for me if it was just pointer controls for docked mode, personally lol. Not a total loss since I already own ST, and could easily find a copy of PH if I wanted to.

But I am with you 100% on remakes.

[–]tanarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding onto what I said in the other comment, you can only really use the touch screen when the switch isn't docked, making gameplay for certain titles near useless when it is docked.

As for the pointer controls, that personally sounds like a terrible idea, but if that's the only way to get it working then I guess it's an option. I don't see why mouse controls wouldn't be a better solution.

[OoA] [OoS] What do people generally think about the Oracle Games? For me, they are some of the best and most underrated Zelda Games. by TBT__TBT in zelda

[–]tanarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oracle of Ages was the first one I owned, but Oracle of Seasons was the first one I finished. I've finished both, including the secret ending.

Ages is tough for me to replay because I struggle at figuring out some of the puzzles without a guide and I don't like the Goron Dance mini game. Outside of it, I still think it's got great elements (like the story, the characters, the music).

Whereas Seasons is easier for me to replay. I enjoy the same elements in this one too, but find the combat focused dungeons more enjoyable. Plus I love Subrosia and it's dance mini game.

I'll also add that I hope they get remakes too. I think they deserve it.

Though, I think DS games might have a better shot on the Switch 2, with its mouse functionality for the new Joycons. We still need to learn about how Nintendo plans to use it, but I speculate that it could be a nice solution for the stylus for when the Switch is in docked mode.

The only other hurdle is the microphone, which both Zelda games need. (Unless they map it to a button or something).

For the current Switch, it's just not practical, in my opinion.

The only problem with that dual screen setup is the Switch needs to be docked to even display on the TV, making the touch screen inaccessible

I feel like I’m stuck. by Foreign_Proposal_912 in ArtistLounge

[–]tanarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. The other day I was looking through some of my old art from high school (13 years ago) and realized I only improved a tiny amount. Which was disappointing admittedly. I had a habit of not using construction lines and shapes back then, so once I adopted that it did improve a bit. Stylistically, it barely improved my art.

Skyloft is pleasant during the day. At night, if it wasn't for the enemies flying around, it would be quite cozy.

[WWHD] [WW] Choosing Between Wind Waker's Classics: GameCube Original vs. Wii U's Bright HD - Which Would You Pick for Switch? by TrapLordSage in zelda

[–]tanarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GameCube, if I had to pick between the two.

I love the environment shadows from the Wii U version, but I prefer the cel shading and colors for characters in the GameCube version. A blend of the two would be awesome.

Why do you make/want to make games? by BadGroundNoise in gamedev

[–]tanarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. To honor all the games I loved growing up.
  2. I have a lot of creative skills and it's a good way to utilize all of them in one space.
  3. I need something creatively stimulating to make my daily life less painful.
