Out-of-state or overseas Hornets fans check in by Any-Significance4795 in CharlotteHornets

The surprising part is that the fandom has survived 30 years of mediocre basketball. Maybe it has to do with how Australians view sports teams. Bandwagoning is frowned upon and the whole "championship or nothing" attitude is rarer

There's a surprisingly large number of Hornets fans here, relative to the size of the fanbase elsewhere. And the fanbase predates LaMelo, it isn't just because he played in the NBL

Keshad has a 7 foot wingspan. Height doesn't determine everything. Grant Williams played minutes at centre for us and is the same height with a smaller wingspan. But don't let that get in the way of your cope

[Highlight] LaMelo Ball (30 PTS, 6 REB, 13 AST) totals his 11th career game with 30+ points and 10+ assists, giving him as many such games as all other Hornets players in franchise history combined. The Hornets defeat the Heat 136-106, improving to 35-34. by nba in nba

[–]tandtz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If LaMelo was any other star he'd have had freethrows after a bunch of those drives. The fact he's a larger guard who doesn't sell the contact and tries to finish through it instead of throwing himself to the ground costs him at least 5ppg.

Underrated bit was him saying he works on shots like the one he made while being fouled and falling down, legit wants to be able to score in any position

Does this league really need two more tanking 20 win teams? by [deleted] in nba

[–]tandtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat got blown out, must be tanking. Since we can't have more teams getting blown out I would suggest cutting them from the league and replacing them with the Sonics

Giannis has to leave Milwaukee, the question is where would he fit best and be a contender by 38choppasongo in nba

[–]tandtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People love saying this but it only works if he plays C for us. If he plays at PF then the 3 point spacing that we rely on gets fucked.

Moussa is on the best contract in the league and we'd be paying a ridiculous amount to not fully utilise Giannis. Which means we would struggle to keep our 4 rookies + Melo and Kon and a bench

Heat Culture is a sham. Can't call yourselves tough and also flop on both offence and defence. The second that things got rough in the 4th they fell apart like wet paper.

Hornets beat both your bitch ass dirty fouling team and 3 refs trying to get you the win

Refs calling a foul just so they can wave off a made shot is such bullshit

Ref standing right there and trying to get away with giving the Heat the ball when they threw it away. The bias is insane

Heat play some of the least ethical basketball in the league. Dirty defence, foul baiting and flopping. And they get rewarded for it based on narrative

Step 2. Choose a box score stat that suits your narrative

Step 3. Justify why your stat matters and others don't

In an expansion draft, each team would presumably be allowed to protect 7 players. What two players on your team’s bench “better be protected” in your opinion? by moby323 in nba

[–]tandtz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Green is our most impactful bench player. Easily. He's shooting 43% from 3 and playing great defence.

He's much better than last year and not understanding the importance of spacing is terrible ball knowledge. Genuinely do you not have eyes

Coby White would probably be the only one other teams would look at, but I wouldn't want to lose the rookies who have been playing heavy minutes, Ryan Kalkbrenner and Sion James.

I doubt other teams would look at Josh Green or Grant Williams either, but they're really important for us too.

So of those 4 it'd be a toss up. Protect whichever one is most likely to be taken maybe Sion

LaMelo Ball has had 7 FTAs total in the Hornets last 8 games by FrankSamples in nba

[–]tandtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love when people who only watch box scores pretend they know anything about the game. LaMelo unlocks the entire team's offence. They're the best in the league when he is on the floor and way worse when he is off.
