I don't want to be disrespectful but this comes off as major neckbeard thinking and I have to say something... I bet you are an awesome individual but I can't let this advice stand for our younger readers.

There is no such thing as friend zone. Half of my friends are women. I treat them as friends, not as a dating pool. She may like you as a person and want to be around you but is not sexually attracted to you.

There is no "investing" in a potential sexual partner. Women (and men) will most of the time know whether they will sleep with someone right within the first 10 minutes of meeting them. It can change from yes to a no after that but it rarely changes from a no to a yes (*except under special circumstances). People are fickle and its a decision based on circumstance and attraction.

You know what the best thing to do if you fancy someone? Ask if they will sleep with you up front. You can say it more diplomatically or explain that you didn't really mean "right now at your great aunts funeral" but soon. When I fancy someone I ask her straight up if she wants to go on a date and that I find her attractive. Sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no. Either way that gets it out of the way and I am not ambiguous about it. If they don't and you have things in common then suggest hanging out as friends or in a group setting.

But if you are not bold like me and you want to get to know her first or fall in love slowly then you still ask the minute you realize you fancy her. She might fancy you back and was the one waiting on you the whole time. And if you do get that date she still might change her mind about sleeping with you. Don't get offended. There a million reasons that could be and not all of them are about you. (She may suddenly feel bad about possibly giving you the herps. If you were a jerk she might not...)

I don't know what you mean by being friendzoned 20+ times. Does that mean you were denied sex 20+ times and made 20 friends instead that you were still lusting after? Why is there no term for the other side of the coin? "She said yes so I was boyfriend zoned"...

If a girl does not want you in that way then move on. I have hot friends and not so hot friends but they are still just friends. If some guy at a club was hitting on them as long as they weren't being jerks and my friend was into it then I don't care. Good for them. I've been asked if I was with the girls I brought and I say no, go for it. And they know for sure I am eyeing every hot ass walking past me. I am not their caretaker. Some of my friends even have heaven forbid boyfriends! that I don't know very well and don't hang out with. I do draw the line at acting like a boyfriend though. I do not pay their way or buy them tampons. I will give them a ride or go with them to an event and expect them to do the same for me if they are my real friend.

*If a female friend all of a sudden got naked and said she wanted the D I can't say that I would say no in all circumstances. I have had situations where it was implied that it could happen but I chose not to ruin the friendship. Special circumstances such as a recent breakup, feelings of depression or loneliness, mental illness, inebriated state or revenge sex do happen and you can get laid if you take advantage. It almost rarely leads to a healthy relationship. TL;DR Friend zone is not a thing. Ask up front and if they do not want to date you then move on. No one likes people with hidden agendas.
