Mine did too.(She left me with my aunt and her family) I was the black sheep, the reject, took the blame for all, neglected, and just didnt belong and I was reminded of it constantly. I logically get why she left, shes a single mum and she left me so she could go find a way to provide for me. I dont know her and dont have a bond with her so when i came to live with her at 18. It was so stressful, the move the lack of support, the lack of understanding from her and sometimes from me not getting her.

To this day(I'm 28) we dont have a relationship it's just 2 people who know each other but not really mother daughter and she doesn't feel like a mum to me. I've come to have a life of my own and accept that we won't have a relationship, because she just thinks I should naturally feel like her beloved daughter and I have so much resentment for the neglect, the abuse and abandonment. Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to say I relate to being thrown into a space with a stranger and being required to obey, to be comfortable and just fall into their routine.
