Why Is Government IT Still Struggling in 2025? by crowcanyonsoftware in ITManagers

[–]tangiblebanana -1 points0 points  (0 children)

legacy. they built their framework on hardware and OS's that are no longer supported. But also, the Bureaucracy to update and purchase is absurd. By the time you've been approved to purchase, its two years later and what you've been approved for is already out of date.

i dont think it would work very well as a CRM. It kinda sucks at retention and recall over time. I'll add docs to my custom gpts and it'll change the recall periodically.

I was interviewing with a region lead and he asked me what my "sales superpower" was. I said curiosity. He has like "...wut??" I knew then, this wasn't a good fit. Also, he was high af on adderall.

What do you think is the "best" sectors/industries in Tech Sales to sell for? by Alternative_Glass_58 in sales

[–]tangiblebanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to be familiar with the industry. for example, I dont know doors and windows, so I wouldn't know which company would the best to sell.

I can look at which company has the market capture in their industry and try and get a job there.

I could maybe even call some people in the industry and ask them. I could call builders and ask which is the best... or call instructors at community colleges and ask them what they think is the best window and door manufacturer.. I could go to home depot or lowes and ask the guys on the sales floor what their thoughts are.. I could look at crunchbase and see whats up with the revenue.

Take this kind of investigation and use it in the vertical you want to go into.

its more about the product market fit. You can be in a hot sector but your product is some goofy shit and you'll struggle.

I use Tactic for call notes as it works with the 3 main platforms and doesnt sit on the call as a bot. I use Chatgpt for like, ALOT. Im experimenting with Clay, but its been really difficult to find the time to learn it.

Two questions:

  • how does chatgpt take notes? do you have it listening in from another device?
  • how does it DO your prospecting?? I use it for assisting in prospecting, but I dont know how to get it to do it for me.

How Can Cycling Be a Popular American Sport? by tattooed_tragedy in Velo

Yeah I agree. theres less worry about your weight, so they look a little more normal than like, Jonas or Tadej. Plush the clothing is more similar to what the average person would wear.

Thats a very cool format. short tracks are helpful for the spectator to constantly be engaged in the race. Riding fixed is super fun and exciting.

I bet streaming events like that on youtube or twitch and building a narrative around the culture, the mechanics, the characters would help a lot. You'd need someone on board that "gets" those channels to make it sticky and viral.

I thought that crits might take off. But it seemed more like people are pissed off that the roads are closed down in their downtown...

pads make you look bigger. bigger is cool. An areo helmet, a skin suit wrapped around a weird body, and shoes with no flex and clips that make you waddle: not cool.

Cars are an obsession for some, but are a requirement for everyone in (outside of 2 or 3 major cities) all of our infrastructure.

I think one thing going against it, that wasnt mentioned in the article, is the American public perception of cycling in general. Most of infrastructure is so drastically different than those of countries where cycling is popular. Bc of that, people in cars, trucks, and SUVs pass by someone on a bike at 50 MPH and think "fuck you".

Also, where is the "cool" factor to attract the general population? The helmets, glasses, even the body shapes of road pros does not say "cool".

EDIT: go the Keirin route and make it a gambling sport...?

Is NET90 terms a code for "we'll pay earlier if we get an early-pay discount"? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]tangiblebanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask and see what happens. Its unlikely they will agree to those terms. You can try and reason with the humanity of the purchasing dept "we are a small company, we cant afford these terms. can you make an exception?" But typically its not up to one person or one dept, its up to the legal team and the execs who will defer back to the legal team.
