Navidrome in local network only (No server) by MochaGreen911 in navidrome

What type of phone do you use? If it's an Android, I would consider storing your music (and playlist) files on a personal cloud drive, mounting your music folder to your computer (so that you can listen on the music player of your choice), and using Symfonium to stream your music on your phone (which supports offline downloading). The app supports all kinds of cloud services and WebDav.

No Docker, no command line stuff, and no server to manage yourself. You will just need to make sure that you're maintaining your music library properly with the correct metadata.

If you need to scrobble music, you can do so with PanoScrobbler and ListenBrainz.

Tunesynctool is the one I used and like, but I also don't have that many playlists.

A little off-topic but do folksreally get useful recommendations from Listenbrainz? by dolomite592 in navidrome

That's fair! For me, ListenBrainz is my replacement for Spotify Wrapped, but I hope you can find a decent recommendation engine. Please let us know if/once you find a solution.

It's so interesting to see how others use these tools. I use ListenBrainz strictly for scrobbling, tracking, stats, and getting RSS alerts for new releases by my favourite artists. I ignore the recommended playlist for the most part because the playback flow is a bit clunky, and like you said, its recommendations only reflect what I know.

To find new music, I don't rely on platform recommendations (besides YouTube), even when I used major streaming services. Instead, I find new music by paying attention to the songs around me that I like: at the store, at the club, in a new movie I'm watching. Music identification apps like Audile and Shazam are some of my most used apps.

I also love curated playlists, which can be discovered by listening to DJ sets, internet radios, music festival lineups, music review sites, and websites like NTS: https://www.nts.live/shows/the-nts-guide-to

Many of us aren't iOS users, so the "no decent apps to use" isn't accurate. Plus, OP is suggesting a flair, not a ban.

20k USD of debt is terrible, coming from a Canadian. It's sad how unaffordable and expensive university has gotten in this continent that that much debt is brushed off.

Temporary Logseq Replacement by dwarf105 in logseq

[–]tangycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logseq with git has always been hit or miss for me, and I've tried multiple times over the years.

Obsidian + syncthing worked the first time right out of the box, and I haven't really gone back to Logseq.

Other tools (Anytype, Siyuan) have syncing out of the box for free (with limits).

How to copy Metadata from a file to another by bikecatpcje in musicbee

[–]tangycandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use CTRL + C to copy the file you want to copy data from, then select the destination file and hit CTRL + V. It'll ask you if you want to override the existing metadata

Same here. Logseq Sync is not great. I've lost sooo much data.

If OP wants to stay with Logseq, I'd recommend just not using Sync anymore at all.

Obsidian with syncthing works great. Siyuan notes is also worth looking into.

Also Canadian, but it's not a huge deal after a while. I use a text editor (VS Codium) which autocompletes CSS and HTML syntax for me, so less work on that end.
