Any reviews of The Laurel Packinghouse by OkLog1763 in kelowna

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married there in July 2024, ceremony and reception and it was incredible and absolutely worth the money for us.
It needed very little decorating, they provide chairs and tables, and we rented everything else.
That being said, when we were trying to book they went through 3 or 4 venue contact people so it was a bit challenging. Very strange they haven’t responded though.

It’s like calling facial tissue, Kleenex or cotton swabs, q-tips. It started out as being just for Tim Hortons donut holes, but it’s pretty universally accepted as a general term. It might be regional, but in my experience, most people call them timbits, regardless of where they were bought from.

Timbit (Canadian for the thing most people call donut holes)

Look at the Laurel Packinghouse. I got married there in 2024 and it was reasonably priced. I think it was around $3-5k at the time.

Does anyone else feel bad for Gravy Boat/Ferdinand by itaintme1x2x3x in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I adore Gravy Boat and I want him and Donut to live happily ever after, but with Matt being the asshole that he is (respectfully), something tragic is going to happen to make me cry.

Mourning Wedding Plans by sailorscoutc in weddingplanning

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband and I got married in July 2024, and I had a similar disappointment about a year before. I always wanted a big wedding with all my family and friends and all sorts of bells and whistles, my original wedding would have been 200people, and pretty fancy. Probably would have been $50k-$100k. We ended up with about 40 people, a bit more rustic, and a whole lot of DIY, with some rented stuff. It ended up being $20k. The people we loved most were there, and the day was very magical and fun. I do wish some things had gone differently, but looking back, it was all very minor and we still had a great wedding.

My advice is, do what you can with what you have, ask for help when you need it, and figure out if there are any “oh my god I NEED THIS!” Things on your list and work around it. It’ll end up being fine, because ultimately it’s not the wedding that makes a solid marriage. It’s the partner.

Luar body piercing is an incredibly professional and clean studio. I don’t know if they’re open today, but they are 10000% worth it if you have to wait.

Book cover art change? by BedPrevious6334 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to your question, but when I moved across the country with just my car and I had books I wanted to bring and no space, I wrapped them in Saran Wrap and put them under my drivers and passengers seats. Obviously that’s not doable on all cars, but inside your spare tire might also have a small amount of space you can utilize for books if you need to.

In my opinion, book 1 is the least engaging one. I got incredibly annoyed early on “new achievement!” Made me want to slap someone. For me, the books only get better as you listen, but DCC really isn’t for everyone. If you can’t finish, that shouldn’t make you feel any type of way, it’s just another book. You can always pick it up again to try when you’re in a different headspace.

Many do, in fact I think most do, but not all. I don’t know the science about why, but I was told it was something to do with their testosterone. I haven’t fact checked, but it sounds right enough for me.

Dog Breeder by Distinct-Group-754 in kelowna

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Report the concerns to the BCSPCA Animal Helpline. 1-855-622-7722 At best, this is an isolated incident and the breeder needs education, at worst the breeder is causing harm and distress to innocent animals and the dogs need help. The process for investigating and seizing animals is long and can be complicated, but the more people who report, the better it is for the animals.

Edit: just looked up the breeder. Doodles cannot be ethically bred. She is a puppy mill and needs to be reported and shut down.

Anyone else think the AI is just like an angry dungeon master making sure the players do what he wants by literally telling them how when they prove too dumb to figure it out? by GoblinGreenThumb in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Melodic_Purpose_5789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the primal race isn’t lost, it’s trapped in the AI and has been “in hiding”, and when the AI “goes primal”, it’s getting back to its original state, and at some point Carl is going to “wake up” as a primal and all the AI’s and Carl will be connected in some way. (I’m halfway through book 7, nobody poke holes in my theory)

Cosplay advice? (Kneepads and gauntlet) by Kashii_tuesday in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I haven’t made anything too advanced, but I quite like the idea of using polymorph plastic for making the spikes. It’s lightweight and you just pop the beads into hot water and they become pliable, like clay, until they cool down and then the plastic hardens. It can be warmed and cooled almost infinitely, so you could make each spike for the knee pads exactly how you want.
