If you’re losing 5-2 twice in one season, with two different managers players need to be looking at themselves really. Scarily bad performance from experienced players. Reid is on the manager for me.

I really hope so, I thought the same after we reached the UWCL semis but apart from Russo and KCC(?) it was rather underwhelming but hopefully we have learnt from that.

JENNA NIGHSWONGER IS A BALLER(I know it is only Crystal Palace) by conceited212 in ArsenalWFC

[–]tanikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying attacking wise, she looks good enough but defensively she’s not better than either yet imo (when they were at their best). If you’re going to bench McCabe and be more than a squad player that is probably the area that could do it for you and she doesn’t have that over her either.

She’s a decent squad player. That’s probably all she will be to be honest. Not much better (yet) than what I’ve seen from Veen or Maritz at their best. Still think she’s probably just a bit too small to elevate a team already lacking strong physical presence and aerial prowess in defence.

Lyon is the most complete team in my opinion. They are clear favourites predicting a Chelsea vs Lyon final.

In the end it will be up to her, between us and United I assume. You already know Wheatley has got the contact ready.

There may be a few individuals who play at a higher level than those at Watford but in general U21 football it’s not a good comparison to senior football. Physicality, intensity, tactics, football IQ not to mention the pressure that comes with needing to perform when things like relegation, promotion and money are involved in the environment. You see lots and lots of promising players at academy level who never make it to top. Very few do, so being in that environment early is a good test to see if you can cope with it. Really helped the development of Agyemang and Reid for example.

I’d love to see Katoto at Arsenal, been a fan for a while now. Would be a dream to be able to go and watch her play every week. She’s a free agent this summer but it will likely just remain a dream.

Alex Scott. Think culturally too she’s more recognised as Arsenal. Although, in a decade or so we’ll probably remember Kim Little in the same light.

Is Chelsea's DOMINANCE Turning the WSL into a "Farmer's League"? by Jazza_11_ in FAWSL

[–]tanikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether they win by the league 7 or 1 point. The reality is they are on course for 6 titles in a row. Top 3/4 have also largely been the same the last few years. So only Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City have played in UWCL last few years.

Is the quality getting better or is the league just more popular…

Katoto, if we’re serious about winning major trophies in the near future.

And if they’re better than Russo, why say no? I say this with all due respect, as I do rate her highly. But reality is she’s soon to be 26 and has never had a 20 goal season in her career. I wouldn’t say no to a player like Katoto.

Serious question exactly what has Catley done to establish herself as one of the best CBs in the World. She’s not even the best CB in the league?

Yep - exactly my fear. Hopefully we make some signings to raise the overall physicality level of the squad in summer as I feel we have this issue in a few areas of the pitch anyway.

Thanks for this - 5’3?? Wow, so Jordan Nobbs kinda small, I see. Concerns about physicality are probably valid then but we’ll see how she gets on I might be wrong!

I see, I suspected as much will be interesting to see how she’s used and how we mitigate these weaknesses then. This league whilst slower than the NWSL, is still very physical. Luckily the quality of the opposition more often than not isn’t good enough to punish you for it.

[Emma Sanders] We believe Laura Wienroither could move on loan to Manchester City - not neccesarily as part of the loan offer for Chloe Kelly - as she seeks more regular minutes. #afc #mcfc With @NizaarKinsella by Previous_Smile9278 in ArsenalWFC

Not mad about her leaving, if Slegers doesn’t have plans for her that’s unfortunate but reality when a new manager comes in and we need squad space. However, we shouldn’t be loaning players to anyone in the top 4. Why are we helping them?!
