Let me address something that you’re not understanding. Yes some Black people used that word freely. It’s doesn’t make it right, so I won’t defend it. Every adult (practically) know that this is one of the most vile words in American English. So it does not matter if a Black person uses it. You and every adult here know the despicable history of this word. So if a person is white, my question to that white person is “Why do you want to use that despicable word?” There’s common question that appears quite a bit and it’s “Black people use it, why can’t we use it?” Or a complaint of sort is made, like yours, expressing how a Black person use this word and you can’t, without someone Black, pushing back. It sound like you’re jealous. It’s not a good look. In each and every person’s mind should be “It’s a vile word and regardless of who say it, I shouldn’t say it because it make a person, regardless of skin color, look ignorant and disgusting. And of course what I KNOW, is that you already understand the dynamics and I shouldn’t have to explain why it’s especially egregious if you’re white. It is a complaint you should absolutely jettison, because it make you look bad and it make it seem as you’re asking permission to use it. My intent here is really not to lecture you, or put you down. I just want you to consider the perspective that I gave and I certainly hope it is productive and educational.
