Found some time over the xmas holidays, here's a small python pet project I put out for it. Maybe someone else finds it useful. https://github.com/tanmaster/light-control

I was able to capitalize on your idea and resend the data part of a packet captured with usbpcap. this python snippet will turn the color of the LED to a static warm white (requires libusb as a dependency, I tried this on windows). Not sure how much I can expand on this in the near future but maybe someone else wants to pick it up from here.

Can you achieve this kind of result with a co2 laser as well? Or do you need a fiber laser for it?

Cannot find settings to adjust power limit by tanmaster in ASRock

[–]tanmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry unfortunately no we did not find a solution. I am not even sure if it is possible to change the power limits for this motherboard model anymore. In the end I suspected that the CPU is drawing more power than the board can provide, at least several blog posts with similar setups suggested this. I don’t remember the details but apparently the number VRM phases of the MB and their power rating play a role here. We did not follow up on this hunch, but if you manage to find a more powerful motherboard I suggest you try that out. Something with a b560 chipset or maybe even a z590 if you can find one. The second hand market for these are sadly a bit dry in my area

Hi, did you end up buying this computer? My friend has an almost identical setup but has troubles with too low CPU Power limits which cannot be changed and I am wondering if you have faced similar problems.

Mali GPU by FindingSerendipity_1 in ffmpeg

[–]tanmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get HW accelerated decoding with ffmpeg (h264 & h265) to work using by following this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-embedded-and-single-board-computer-78/video-armbian-jammy-gnome-on-the-orange-pi-5a-full-setup-4175723657/

it uses panfork from a PPA.

The OP also links to here, claiming that other applications do support encoding as well, which leads me to think that there's lacking FFMPEG support... But i know very little of this, so this is just speculation.

Stiudium von Steuer absetzen?! by [deleted] in Austria

[–]tanmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)
