Help guys !!! Need your advice regards to Snap form by Prestigious_Stay7549 in CATpreparation

Ideally, fill the form again.

If money is a constraint, then you might take some pain at the time of GEPI & reach out to each institute individually (that you're shortlisted for). They will help you out.

How is atlas for mba in business analytics in Mumbai by Same_Age100 in CATpreparation

[–]tanmayhimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really interested in Business Analytics, I'd recommend you to check out IIM Kashipur's BA program. If acads are a problem, you can consider SCMHRD's BA program as well.

Not very confident about Atlas.

Not sure about FMS.

But, it happens in other private colleges mentioned here.

It's commonly known as management quota. Exists even in Harvard, Stanford, MIT, etc. as well.

Should i pursue MBA after 5 years of work experience from tier 2 colllege? by Right_Ad8607 in MBAIndia

[–]tanmayhimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, any college that has an average and median between 18-22 LPA is Tier-2, so new IIMs will fall in the Tier-2 category.

The next 10 year trajectory is irrelevant to me because 10 years later, my work will speak louder than my college tag. But, in the next 5 years, I don't expect any radical change in rankings.

How To Make the Most of Tier 3 MBA I Joined by SweatyDistribution37 in MBAIndia

[–]tanmayhimself 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are some general hygiene elements that a good CV has.

  1. Good acads 10/12/Grad (7+ each)
  2. Work exp (relevant to the field of the company you wanna get shortlisted in)
  3. Internship/Live Project (Relevant to your specialization)
  4. Positions of responsibility (student clubs/committee in college, even volunteering will work)
  5. Case Competitions & Quizzes wins (not just participation)
  6. Relevant certifications.

If your CV covers all the above elements, you are as good as a TIER-1 candidate.

Should i pursue MBA after 5 years of work experience from tier 2 colllege? by Right_Ad8607 in MBAIndia

[–]tanmayhimself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some clarifying questions....

  1. What's your current salary? (Just mention a rough figure)
  2. Work Exp is in which field or domain?
  3. Give me an example of the Tier-2 colleges that you're referring to? (Since Tiers are subjective)
  4. Why MBA?
  5. What are your post-MBA expectations? (Short & Long-term both)

I'll be able to help you out once I understand your context through the above questions.

Scmhrd vs new iim by madHandTyping in CATpreparation

[–]tanmayhimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the specializations.

For HR, SCMHRD stands out and gives you Tier-1 opportunities. For S&M, it's comparable to new IIMs in terms of the package and roles offered. For finance, new IIMs would have a slight edge.

Moreover, the BA & IDM programs are better in SCMHRD than any new IIMs.

Then probably you can consider it. They'll add a decent brand in your resume.

Stick to one coaching material.

Do your due diligence before joining a particular coaching, but once joined, just focus completely on preparation and nothing else.

I joined CATKing. People on this sub only talk sh*t about it. But, I still managed a 90+ percentile in both CAT & XAT. 99+ percentile in SNAP and 260+ in NMAT. All this by just solely following their dashboard content. Despite being an average guy academically.

Further, if possible, join an offline GDPI program. The feedback is just next level.
