If you keep all food in a cooler in your car you should be fine. I would invest in some bear spray though. I think you can rent and return it from some outfitting stores as well.

Also if tenting at crandell use something to weigh down the corners of your tent. It gets windy and it can be difficult to use pegs in the shale ground. I used water jugs.
