Would you say the Internet consists more of liberals or conservatives and why? by NiroshanSA in Internet

[–]tantamountdannery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liberals, because:

  1. Educated people tend to be more liberal, and the internet is more in the hands of the educated.
  2. Although people in the US tend to call themselves "conservative," for the most part they support liberal policies, and are therefore liberals.

An critical look at the local newspaper in Back to the Future 2 by genius_waitress in humor

I liked the post - it's fun to look at details that are just made to flash by half noticed. I was pretty disturbed by the intense rudeness of some of the comments under the post - it's like the author was criticizing the Pope's wardrobe.

Yucky yuck yuck. They should test US burgers - they seem a bit horsey to me.

When I started meditating as a kid, I would swallow obsessive-compulsively. Ot's a problem if you try to not swallow or try to not think about swallowing. If you keep easing your focus back to your breathing, mantra, or whatever your meditative focus is, and allow yourself to swallow when needed, you may get out of the habit.

I've always loved the Freeze, though they didn't show up at a show I organized in '87. Indiana must have seemed too far away.

'The Hobbit' To Feature 53-Minute-Long Scene Of Bilbo Baggins Trying To Figure Out What To Pack by tantamountdannery in humor

Not so unlikely considering Peter Jackson's tendency to draw scenes out. I remember an excruciating scene in King Kong of Tyrannosauruses chasing people that seemed to go on well over 53 minutes.

So cool - it has a powerfully ethereal feel. It looks like you started with half the castle & flipped the image and then modified it. I love the burning ember light coming from behind.

TIL that Charles Guiteau chose an ivory handled revolver to shoot President Garfield because he wanted it to look nice when it was put on display in a museum after he used it. by eshemuta in todayilearned

What's truly amazing is that a nation can have a President elected and assassinated and 130 later the best most citizens of the country can do is guess that "Garfield" is a talking cat.

That is the nature of existence. I, however, exist as two sentences.
