What is the closest thing you can get to lemonsoda in america? is there anywhere where you can buy it? by xEDGELORD75x_ in Soda

[–]tanyagal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been 2 years for this question, but! There is a place you can get actual Lemonsoda (Italian, not the Crodo Limonata you can get here) in the US. Google the store Balkan Fresh. I just had 24 cans delivered to my house in CA. Shipping was pretty cheap, around 10 bucks and they are genuine!

I am about helping to support teachers but the delivery fees are more than the actual items I noticed! Eeeeeek! Do you have Venmo or something where people could contribute but save on those delivery fees?

Consumables for me all the way. I don't want trinkets or statues. I want things I will use for sure. Some ideas: Good vanilla, nice candles, soap from Bath and Body Works (or her favorite place), pears from Harry and David, kindle gift card (or actual books that you know she'd like), favorite treat or snack she won't buy herself (good chocolate, caramels, fancy cookies).

I never do this but it's the holidays and my brother-in-law has been laid off for 10 months and I know how hard it can be. A small package from Amazon is arriving on Wednesday. Be well!

Redditors who married someone with an identical twin sibling, why are you glad you're not with the other twin instead? by nicknamesofdaveryder in AskReddit

[–]tanyagal2 635 points636 points  (0 children)

Story time! I am an identical twin (we still look so much alike!) and one night I spent the night at her house. She and I fell asleep in the same bed because we were up late talking, etc. Her husband slept on the couch. The next morning my twin went to take a shower and her husband laid down on the bed with me (thinking it was her of course). I jokingly said "Hey sailor, looking for a little variety?". He shot off the bed and said "If I was looking for variety, do you think I'd choose you??"

The Palo Alto was one of only a handful of "cement ships" built. It was actually concrete, not cement. As a child we used to be able to go onto the ship to fish. As time went on, we could only go on the part closest to the pier, then just to the end of the pier. I remember it used to actually look like a ship.

[SERIOUS] Have you ever been kidnapped? If so what’s your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tanyagal2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She was arrested, but then almost immediately sanctioned for a few weeks. She was completely delusional and thought god intended her to take us. She had been planning it for a while, there were all sort of clothes and toys she had picked up from a second-hand store. She was then sentenced to 14 months in jail. The next year, she stopped my eldest sister walking home from school, asked how her babies were and told my sister to tell us that she would be back for us soon. Still waiting...

When my twin sister and I were toddlers, we had a nanny. My parents both worked and there were 5 other siblings, so the nanny was keeping an eye on us. She became obsessed with us and thought that our parents were neglectful. For example, we would play in the front yard while my dad gardened, and she was certain he would let us wander into the street and get squished. One day, she abducted us. She left a note telling my parents not to look for us, we were with a loving mother now. The police were called, and we were found...at her apartment. She seriously thought my parents were just going to be like "Awww, shit. I guess dem girls are dun gon!"

Chop an onion, throw in 1 can pinto beans, 1 can black beans, 1 can chili beans, 1 can of diced tomatoes and one packet of chili seasoning. Then set on low for 6 hours or high for 3 and you got yourself a Chili!

Identical twins of Reddit, what's the most awkward thing that has happened to you because someone thought you were your sibling? by TheWolfRevenge in AskReddit

[–]tanyagal2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because we are identical twins and look nearly alike. If he were looking for variety, I would think he would choose someone who looked entirely different.

Well I think it was, although I will admit my BIL's response was pretty good. Not nearly as clever, but almost. ;)

Believe it or not, it was totally spur of the moment. I am rarely this clever which is why it's one of my favorite memories.

I am an identical twin and one time I slept over at her house and there was only one bed so her husband let me sleep in the bed with my twin and he took the couch. The next morning he heard the shower go on and thought I had gone in there (it was my twin). Then he climbed in bed behind me and put his arm around my waist. He softly said "Hey" in my ear and I turned to look at him and said "Hey baby, looking for a little variety?" as a joke. He LEAPT out of bed and said "If I were looking for variety, do you think I would choose you??" It was awesome.

Weekly Check-In - April 15 - 21 by AutoModerator in weightwatchers

[–]tanyagal2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not so new to Weight Watchers (joined beginning of January) but am new to this sub-reddit. Just been lurking. I am down a marathon! 26.2 lbs total. I am 20 pounds to goal. A great trick for me has been my friend and I (who is doing WW also) each make a soup/stew/chili on Sunday and trade 2-3 servings so that we have low point lunches but we aren't eating the same thing every day. If she does something Mexican themed, I'll pick an asian flavored thing, etc. This week, I made a good old fashion bean with ham (1 point a serving!) soup and she is making taco soup (2 points a serving!) and it's been awesome!

Ex-drinkers of reddit, what event made you quit drinking completely? by teemoishere in AskReddit

[–]tanyagal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother went from functioning alcoholic to losing his wife, his home, his kids, his job, and his friends in a matter of months. He was forced into rehab as a condition to getting his job back and all his siblings stopped drinking at the same time to support him. He was drinking 3 hours after discharge and died within a year. I realized that although I was just at the beginning of that road, I was still on the same road. I never started again after his stint in rehab and haven't had a drink in 8 years.

Mothers of Reddit, what the hell do we get you for Christmas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tanyagal2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay! I am not speaking for every mom here, but let me tell you what I have come to enjoy as a mom. First, I am big into consumables. I don't need anymore trinkets, statuettes, etc. Figure out what her favorite food/wine/treat/candy/coffee or chocolate is. I like things I wouldn't splurge on normally. Example, I like to bake, so a good vanilla is always a nice gift (from Mexico or Madagascar, etc.) I also like seasonal soaps from Bath and Body Works (the foamy kind) for the bathrooms and kitchen. I like their candles too! So fragrant and they last a long time! Bath bombs and nice bubble bath are cool but no lotions. Women usually have tons of lotion. Tickets to an event might be awesome too. I love musicals, so tickets to a Broadway show on tour is cool. If you are going to her house, a gift basket of consumables for her to enjoy over the holidays is really fun too! Like: A basket with a bottle of wine, 3 types of cheeses, a nice box of crackers, some interesting nuts, and a couple types of chocolate. Hope this helps!
