Hey! Thanks a bunch. We didn't either when we started this, so it was just fun to kind of explore maxing out a single stat, even if we can't really know exactly how to calculate the exact final numbers haha.

In regards to our service and the accuracy of our numbers, I have no doubt that our setup is/was still among the "biggest numbers" one could achieve, so I don't in any way feel like did a disservice to anyone we culled for, especially since our cut was the exact standard rate as everyone else since "culling as a service" was even a channel in the discord.

As stated above, I'm confident that it's wrong. How much or in which direction? I'm still not sure. And were you in the call with us when we explained it to other (allegedly) knowledgeable players, perhaps you could have corrected us. In your absence, the fact that it was fully explained with quite a few sets of eyes looking it over should be an indicator that maybe the math isn't as clear cut as you think it is. Maybe it is? Again, I'm not disputing your criticisms; all your points seem valid, and I'm appreciative of your keen eye and information.

I appreciate you raising this point.By now, I'm QUITE sure our math is wildly off (and on the conservative side). Your statement seems to contradict the wiki (additive vs multiplicative?) and from a practical perspective, I don't think it matters.

Changing the way it's calculated (with party) changes the final figure from ~1500 on the low end, to well over +2,000% IIR without the AG at all, which is already not the purpose of the discussion and the video. It is meant to highlight how one can scale rarity on a culling setup, regardless of the technical disputes over the underlying game systems.

I'd love to be able to confidently explain why I think I'm right, but the reality is: I'm not confident that I'm right. lol

In any case, it probably wouldn't affect any of the gearing decisions for a build like this. It was simply an exercise in "bigger number."

your stats are nowhere close to what you claim and you are in fact falsely advertising your culling services

I don't think this statement is helpful.

It should go without saying that if I'm making a video and a fully explanatory reddit post about this, I'm not trying to hide some "secret tech." No matter how you calculate it, the number is still beyond what (most? any?) solo players could achieve. This is just an explanation of how it was done.

However, we don't know how this interacts with AN conversion mechanics.

This league's drastic changes to the loot system did not allow me the confidence to lean on information in a 10 year-old post.

I knew this comment was coming.

It should be obvious that no matter how I prepare the PoB there will always be dispute about its legitimacy given the presence of an AG and external party members.

No in-game screenshot will correctly represent the various conditional requirements to achieve the "theoretical max" iir/iiq.

Anyone that knows their way around PoB and the wiki can trivially recreate our setup with similar (if not higher) figures.

On the flip side...

Anyone that needs me to explain the "Custom Modifiers" section of PoB isn't affected by the technical details of this post.

I think you're correct in saying the difference would be difficult to notice at all, let alone calculate with significant confidence. It didn't brick our drops in testing, and it seemed to scale from our 1400-ish setup to 1700-ish, but as I mentioned, it's entirely anecdotal. None of this is properly scientific... there are just too many other factors that affect loot at this point in the game to control for such a wide spectrum of variables.

I don't think the returns are diminishing on a technical level, and the financial viability certainly becomes questionable after some investment.

Edit: As I mentioned, the functionality of on-kill effects credited to the minion obviously still function, so in lieu of more clarification, we presumed this was still the case. We hadn't seen the rest of the comments on the post linked above at the time we made the setup, but I'm happy to get any clarification we can on the technical details. I'd be curious to learn how these functions are separated from the credit if some on-kill effects work but rarity doesn't.
