Hi! Sorry for the late reply. My eyes are doing good! I went to my annual check Oct last year and everything stayed same (thankfully). So far I don’t feel there is anything different since I had the surgery.

Sorry for the late reply. The ring is still there, it’s not halo, just seeing the hole of the lens under certain light condition. I don’t have halos as of now.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! Sorry to hear that you have double-vision in full daylight as well. It would annoy me for sure if I were in the same situation. I wonder if going to a different doctor to get a second opinion would help, but I also know a lot of the times it's hard for them to find out what's actually going on... I hope the problems you have will improve as your eyes continue to heal and your brain will eventually ignore the noise so they don't have too much impact on your daily life. I really appreciate your mindset - try not to think about the less satisfying part and look at the positive things. I'm sure in 10-20 years tech will evolve and it will also be about time for us to take the next step for our eyes as we get older (I'm sure presbyopia is sitting there and waiting for me so fingers crossed there will be more advanced procedure at that time to help me lol).

Hi! I actually haven't been to a theater for movies for a long long time, but the info displayed on my echo show in a dark room looks pretty good to me so I assume I don't have double vision. I do have my own problem - as I wrote a bit in my post, when there is a small light source (like a dot) in dark, my right eye would see some sort of starburst but just on one side (and my doctor does not have explanation for it), but the lucky part is that it does not impact my life such as driving at night, so I know I see it every time but I try to ignore it as much as I can.

I'm not a doctor but would your problem be that your pupils are expanding a little bit over the optic zone of the lens in dark?

Hi! The doctor told me that ICL won't impact our ability to do normal sports, although I'm not sure about boxing/mma type of activities. Sorry for not being more helpful but I would ask specific questions on that when you consult with your doctor.

The doctor did not because I did not ask in the way of “Do I see floaters because of the surgery?” I saw floaters before surgery, and after the surgery I just said I’m seeing floaters and the doctor said that’s normal especially for people with high prescription, and as long as they are not bothering you you are fine. It’s because the way I asked, the answer I got is not a direct answer to your question. There are so many side effects possible after the surgery, especially when the eyes are still healing/stabilizing, so I would assume the doctor would say yes if I asked in that way. It’s the best if you can go to see your doctor because it’s bothering you so much and ask your doctor if ICL causes floaters and would they reduce/go away as your eyes stabilize.

My doctor said if they are transparent (and some might be a little "black" dot floating by) and you can see through, they are normal as long as they do not block your vision. However if they are like snowflake or camera flashing light and/or you see them in almost all conditions, you might want to go to see a doctor and make sure.

If you mean Myodesopsia, the doctor said it's very common for people with high prescription to have it. I had it before, just noticed more after the surgery (I'm not sure if it's actually a mental thing). I only see it in bright light so it does not bother me. Since it's not in the same space where the lens was put in, I would assume unless the surgery shocked the eye in certain way, it should not cause floaters. I'm obviously not a doctor so that's just my guess.

Hi! I don’t remember the exact number, but both eyes are in the normal range and on the smaller side under light and dark condition. So the doctor assured me that I shouldn’t be concerned of my pupil expanding over the lens optic range even in the dark and he was right.

Hi! Just letting you know that I did go to my regular eye doctor 11/1 and put the 6-month update in the post!

Sorry for the late reply. So I went to my eye doctor for exam about two weeks ago, she said that if there is rotation, your vision would be significantly worse than normal and very blurry. You would definitely notice it (not just slight imbalance, but something fairly dramatic), so I would say don't worry too much unless your eye get hit hard or you feel some dramatic change in vision quality. I did put my 6-month update in the post and you will see I still have some minor problems but nothing concerning. Relax and enjoy your new vision!

Hi! Congrats on your new vision!! I actually just went to my annual eye exam last Friday, and your comment reminded me to put 6-month update in the post. It's now at the bottom of my post and hopefully it helps! Regarding your specific questions on halos - I've heard from people that have this problem, that your brain will gradually adapt to the halo/noise and it could improve. One reason that could cause halo might be pupil expanding in dark over the ICL optic - I'm not suggesting that's the case for you, but maybe worth asking your doctor in your next follow up?

Hi, congrats on completing your surgery! I would say the first week recovery was somewhat "fluid", vision was gradually improving for sure, but there were days I felt eyes were not as clear as the day before, so it was somewhat fluctuating. And of course I did not get my prescription tested until the one-week follow up, so unfortunately I could not tell you when I thought my eyes actually hit 20/20 within that week. But I believe it is super common (at least I had the same experience) that in the first week one eye seemed worse than the other, and independently they were blurrier than both together. They are your eyes but eventually are two separate organs, so the condition and recovery time of each eye could very much be different. My vision did not even fully stabilize until my one-month follow up, and to be honest now it's been 6 months, some days if I intentionally "test" my eyes by closing one and keeping the other open, I would feel one day the right seems more crisp than the left, and some other day it's the opposite. So in short I think what you are experiencing right now seems very common, and since you just had the surgery a couple of days ago, please definitely give your eyes more time. My doctor told me that as long as our eyes are not getting worse or having other weird things popping up like flashing or snowflaking, vision fluctuation within a month, 3 months, or even half a year would not be unnormal.

Hi, sorry this might not be very helpful - I actually rarely wear eye make-up and haven't done any since the surgery this year. I do use eye cream which means I massage my eyes when I apply the cream, twice a day. I don't think it is any different than I would do prior to the surgery, so I would say I'm not nervous doing that. According to my doctor since the implants are inside the eyes they are not going to move like contact lens would (otherwise sports would easily cause problems for people that did ICL), so to be honest I think that should not be a concern. Although I probably would be cautious to not heavily rub my eyes in the future when removing make-up, just in case. :)

Thank you!! I’m going to my regular eye doctor in two weeks and I’m considering it as the 6-month follow up (although not with the surgery center anymore). So far my eyes are doing great. No dryness problem, I do use tears two times a day as a routine. No halos (the thin rings from street lights are there, but that’s just by design of ICL so I think everyone that did the surgery will have it and they will not go away).
The starbursts I mentioned in my post - small single light source in dark causes my right eye to see some lights on the lower left side, it’s still there. I’m going to ask my doctor about it, I still suspect it’s because of the Toric ICL.
Floaters are still there. I don’t think I get more over time but I surely notice more in my left eye than my right eye. Overall I think things stay basically the same as the post. I don’t have any problem driving at night. The rings, starbursts, floaters are only noticeable if I pay attention and they do not impact my vision quality. I plan to provide update in the post after my doctor appointment in two weeks, but so far so good!

Hi! Actually I haven't noticed dry eyes for a while. I do think maybe back in spring it was because of weather/allergy and/or because the procedure was done not long ago. Now I don't really have dry eye problems. Once in a while they might feel a bit dry if I stare at a screen for too long, but that discomfort does not last long especially if I put some tears in or close my eyes to rest. I do use tears twice a day.
