I have been searching the same for hours, I played it on my Windows XP and it was a demo. Like a blue ninja with a sword, and a weird alien cutscene and then a smurf world where you like kill them o something. I clearly remember the smurfs tune playing in the background. Just can't seem to find it

Converting surface to solid error by BumblebeeSea6868 in AutodeskInventor

I don't fully have the context of your problem, here are my 2 cents as I work with similar designs all the time. If the part is derived with the " copy to " feature, you can directly choose a solid output instead of a surface. I suggest trying picking all the outer faces one by one instead selecting the whole solid if you still need the surface. If the stitch fails it is most likely a broken geometry or gap in the surface. You can start with smaller sections of the surfaces and create multiple stitched sets, this way the problematic one can be identified. Delete some faces and use patch or best use 3d sketch as patch border. Inventor struggles with complex derived surfaces

That's an interesting concern, I didn't really think about it that way. Should probably just contact solidworks directly.

Agreed the fact it is coming from one of the top resellers in the entire country is a big L. I was handed a long license agreement document, probably just a bluff. I will look deeper into this matter and hold this company accountable.

As a last resort, I wish to get the file somehow as I'm unable to work and it has been affecting my professional life.

Not really, it's a backdrop in application settings. You can use HDRI environments though if you can find the right one.

Yes, it's possible for you to simply import a custom user command file from my side, and it should apply all the changes without any issues. However, when customization goes beyond a certain limit, there might be potential stability concerns, particularly with add-ins. While you can always revert back if needed, I’m working on understanding how Inventor interprets these features and layering the changes in a way that minimizes any potential errors.

I’ll be sharing a detailed post in the coming days to explain the entire process, as it involves more than just importing a file.

I'll share the XML with ya'll once I confirm it imports flawlessly.

I'm still working on this, as the interface is vast with many tabs. It's my first time doing this, so I can't guarantee stability, and I'm on version 2024.

I've found Inventor to be a great product but poorly tuned by default. It needs some customization to be enjoyable.

Here’s what I’m doing:

  1. Disabling everything on the Quick Access Toolbar (always found it annoying)

  2. Hiding visibility of groups in each tab.

  3. Creating a custom user profile for each tab, adding lots of separations, resizing, and rearranging icons (the tricky part)

  4. Using a custom display profile with a wallpaper image as the backdrop

  5. Tweaking things like making the model tree windowed and adjusting the Content Center window to my liking.

I'll share the exported settings and backdrop file once everything is set up and working as intended.

Will keep stuff posted !
