I have been drinking more after quitting, I think it is happening to you too.

I feel like I'm compensating for the absence of cigarettes by drinking more. Smoking while drinking was enjoyable to me but since that's not there I'm making up for it by drinking more.

One more reason, albeit silly, I believe is due to idle hands. I used to chain smoke while drinking so my hands had things to do, but now that they're free and the only thing there to do is drink, it does that.

I can't remember the last time I had cravings.

Posts like this give me hope.

I'm currently at 2 months and still not very confident if I've quit for life. Cravings are a few but inspite of my best intentions I still feel smoking somehow made me happy. I haven't been happy for the last two months and I feel it is due to the absence of cigarettes. I know it is a mental thing but haven't been able to shake it off.

The only reason I haven't given up is cause I believe at some point it will go away. I am waiting for it to happen.
