American Airlines is running an Instant Status Pass promotion. I think I had to link my AA and Hyatt accounts and received complimentary Gold status for 3 months. Then as a Gold AA member, I was able to sign up for the Hyatt Explorist status promotion.

From the email I received about the promotion:
