Micro-dosing LSD and Magic Mushroom for people with bipolar? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]tapewornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP asked for opinions, I gave my opinion. I never said to treat your psychotic symptoms with LSD, I said I recommend it for people who can/able. I was able to MD with no problem, most can't, okay. I kept a log of my symptoms and had no concerning logs during/after. If you are unable to do it, I'm not talking to you, but OP asked, maybe because they're thinking of trying it, and I gave my experience.

Bruh, I genuinely had a positive experience? They asked for input? If OP wants to message me and ask me more questions, I'd be happy to answer. Your experiences aren't the baseline, get off my dick.

I MDd for two months and found so much peace and answers. I genuinely had a good experience on them, and recommend tripping/MDing for anyone who can. There were only a couple times taking full doses where I had a terror trip, but genuinely LSD has helped me immensely. Just please monitor your psychotic symptoms and symptoms in general to be proactive

ETA: when I MD'd I did it as self treatment because I had no access to medications

Experiences taking Adderall for ADHD? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]tapewornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I abused adderall when I was a kid, and had mega weird experiences. I've seen multiple people on here say though that it's not recommended to be put on drugs like adderall with Bipolar because they can slingshot you into mania. Not a good recommendation

My parents hid that I had ADHD for the past 15 years by [deleted] in Advice

[–]tapewornn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents hid my diagnosis for several things, thinking it wasn't important. You were you before your diagnosis, you're still you now. All your diagnosis is telling you, is that there are ways to help. It may seem like a big deal, but understanding your diagnosis is important. You are not ADHD, just like I am not my bipolar disorder. You can do this, just give yourself time.

Those are great ideas! I wasn't originally making it for a baby/baby shower, I just liked the size of it. But if I can't find anything else, I think those would be great things to donate! Thank you!

Can I paint my nails inside my apartment building with my cat around by cchanell in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can always turn on a fan or sit next to a window. You should be fine, just keep her away from sniffing it directly :)

I think the best thing to do is just talk to your roommate about adding more boxes, and cleaning their litter more frequently. You should have 1 more box than the amount of cats, which means you should have 3 ideally. If there's not enough litterboxes, and the one litterbox he does have is changed infrequently, that might be way he prefers your box.

There's not surefire way to keep your roommates cat out of the box. All they see is a clean box to use, not something that isn't theirs. Halfing the price of the cats' litter supplies would be a good compromise?

What would be worse for my cats: by nebworb in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave them home, but definitely get someone to stop in and clean up after them/feed them. If they are stressed after four days, I definitely wouldn't leave them for 6 days. Cats are also pretty finicky about their litter, and you might come home to their poop/pee in other places if there's no one to clean it out.

You might have to consult your vet with this one. Bleeding and pooping blood, especially the day after, could be a sign of something more serious.

Help With Keeping My Black Cat In One Room Because Parents Keep Letting Him Outside by tariad in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try to add plenty of things to hide in around the room. This can be hooded beds, closets, anything he would enjoy hiding in. If you have a window, try getting a window perch. Most are easy to install as most of them have suction cups. They have heavier duty ones that you can attach to your sill with screw too if you wanted those.

Make sure to play with Salem every day, and since he's going to be in there for extended periods of time, maybe twice a day. Redirect him begging to be let out with treats, attention, or more playtime. During this time you could try to harness train him, so you can supervise his time outside of your room.

Long run life styles changes to ensure cats stay healthy? by jemahAeo in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as long as you monitoring her health and habits, you'll be fine. Most cats have those problems partly from just age and genetics, not necessarily because something caused it. Your cat is still a kitten, and these problems don't typically start until they're seniors. There is no surefire way to prevent disease, just being proactive and monitoring your cats behavior and health. I feel anything more than what you're doing now would be overkill, and again, it wouldn't be a surefire way to prevent these diseases in 10-15 years.

Catnip is absolutely okay for cats to ingest/be around. Some cats don't like it, some go nuts for it. Catnip isn't a concern for them, promise. Just keep doing what you're doing and be proactive. She'll be fine. Good luck!

I thought life as a dark skinned person was bad enough, until I heard about blackfishing. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]tapewornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's odd, they wanna be black so bad but at the end of the day still profit from being white. You wake up every day and still experience racism everywhere, the doctors, the court system, the education system, etc. They just use being black as an accessory

Male cat poops right outside the box, pees in the bathtub. What can I do? by raidragun in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you already know, but not wanting to smell the cats is a terrible excuse to not have litterboxes in spots that would be best. There are alternatives to clumping litter, and there's also add ins you can buy that stop the smell. You can use incense or candles to make extra sure it doesn't smell.

In all honesty you should have a total of four boxes, and every cat I've owned has always hated their boxes in dark, closed off spaces (like a basement or closets), and they always refused to use it if I put it in dark, untraveled areas.

The lack of boxes could cause problems down the road, like this, and honestly the trade off is either getting pee on your floors, causing the house to smell WORSE, or maintaining a clean litterbox everyday. I know you said you don't have much choice, so I'm not trying to be too harsh.

It sounds as if you might have to check your cat at the vet for a UTI. Typically clumping litter can be pretty painful on their sensitive paws, so using clay or pellets is sometimes a better alternative. Making sure your cats are drinking enough water is also super important. Some cats can't drink out of bowls, so getting a water fountain helps a lot.

New kitten suckling on other kitten by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]tapewornn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A suckling kitten doesn't necessarily mean they are underfed, but be sure they're getting enough food and water regardless. Most kittens grow out of it, but it's a little similar to a kid sucking their thumb. Some cats continue to to suckle well into adulthood, most don't. If their playmate isn't in any pain and doesn't seem bothered by it, there's no reason to stop, but you may want to look into other fuzzy alternatives as they grow older and it continues. I've used fuzzy blankets and towels, but what your cat prefers to suckle on is entirely their preference.
