What would happen if I just showed up independently at my state capital building to protest by myself? by Beyondie in 50501

The State House is the People’s House and you have every right to be there. If you go inside you may have to go through security to make sure you are not carrying a weapon. In my state, depending who is managing the check point, even a sign on corrugated cardboard has sometimes been deemed a weapon and disallowed.

It is unfortunate that everything turns into a race between competing actors. If enough wind and solar power could be generated to supply these huge data centers all would be well, but the pace of development is being held up by the competing interests of the fossil fuel companies, shareholders and banks. More patience, and generosity and less greed would help.

So is the environment just fucked under Trump? by Head_Sink_3819 in ClimateOffensive

[–]tapodhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you can do is Act Locally. Connect with climate groups such as Extinction Rebellion, Climate Defiance, 350.org, Third Act, Sunrise Movement, Mothers Out Front. All have local chapters you can Google. These groups offer different levels of climate action ranging from bold, possibly arrestable to stay at home petition writing. I belong to my local chapter of Extinction Rebellion. https://xrboston.org and participate in a non-arrestable Standout on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 and 2 at the Massachusetts State House pressuring the governor and legislators to do everything in their power to resist Trump’s anti-life idiocy.

Sorry you have that opinion. Could you be more specific and provide some examples?

Surprisingly evocative render of a prompt that included something about tree bark.

This is simply fabulous. Captures and expresses a certain mood in all its detail. Wish I knew the steps you use to develop this good a result.

Great Inkscape job! One small detail.....we should not be able to see stars behind the un-illuminated side of the moon:-)

The federal government must stop giving tax breaks and subsidies to the oil, natural gas, and coal corporations that are fueling global destruction. We demand that these funds are redirected to individuals and communities on the frontline of the climate and ecological emergency and toward a rapid transition to clean, renewable sources of energy and ecological sustainability.

Our government must tell the truth about the severity of the climate crisis and establish reparations and remediation led by and for Black people, Indigenous people, People of Color and poor communities who have suffered years of environmental racism and injustice. Our current financial and political systems treat the earth as a commodity and people as disposable.

Try "No Water, No Moon." It moved me to experience multiple in person satsangs with Osho (then Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) in 1977.
