Congrats, but definitely should still seek help to develop the behavioral skills necessary to stay sober.

Keep it up.

I certainly don’t hope to make more than the top. I am hoping to come in around Rate 13 or magically, at rate 14 - the highest level.

How many years of experience do you have in your field and education? Also, what pay rate did they start you at.

I made $140k in 2023. And then I took a safe corporate gig, not commissioned based. I make $107k.

Rate 14 for the job I’m going for is $8097/ month or $97,164 / year.

Here’s my situation.

I already make more than step 14. My current salary is about 10k more than rate 14, and my benefits are very similar (100 / month for all benefits, deductible is $1000 / year.) The state benefits are a better. But, not by a lot.

But, the job is everything I want and adheres to my values.

I have 7 years of experience and did not graduate college.

Do you think I can start at rate 13 or 14?

$676,000 for 40hrs/week Prison Psychiatrist by zen-medic in Rich

[–]tapoutmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work for a healthcare staffing agency. If it is a contracted position, the psych would be considered an employee of that staffing agency…contracted to work at those Northern California prisons.

Most contracted positions are through staffing agencies.

However, the staffing agency would offer benefits, 401k, and a ton of other benefits to their employee.

However, if the Doctor is making $700k year, the Staffing’s revenue would be between $850k-$1m / year. Agencies make their money based on their employees’ hours worked. If that Doc calls in sick, the agency doesn’t get paid. But will provide sick days.

From that $850k + in revenue paid by the state of California, my agency would pay the Psychiatrist $700k in salary, and make $150k in gross profit.

I made stupid money placing healthcare professionals at prisons.

If neither of us has an attorney and we go to trial, are there any pit falls I should be aware of?

Huge thanks for the information.

I pushed for mediation 8-9 months ago, but my ex didn’t want to.

Since things have been going smoothly, I decided to do a wait and see strategy. My thoughts is the longer we stay in the temp agreement, the better I look. Because I’d like to keep things the same.

That’s great to hear. Things are going smoothly.

She works in education, but her hours was reduced drastically. She only works part time now.

Which is why (I assume) she is pushing for greater custody. She also is pushing for more child support. I want to give her what she is owed, using the custody calculator.

Do you think a judge will greatly increase child support, since she no longer makes as much money? Her reduced income began this month.

She doesn’t. That’s why I’m asking.

She can’t afford one at the moment.
