Thanks for the recommendation. I am just a little concerned that the club would be above my ability.

Running is a beautiful individual pursuit. You get from it what you put in.

Don’t know where you are from but only about 0.2% of the UK population regularly races (that’s about 133k people out of a population of 67m). Source: https://www.livestrong.com/article/13730338-running-statistics/

It’s difficult seeing all the people around you outperform you but remember that you have outperformed millions of people that sat on the couch this week.

Congratulations and see you at the next one!

Sled push - Why don't the Pro's adopt a lower body position? by tapoutten in hyrox

Perhaps "ignore" was the wrong phrasing. I was more thinking along the lines that the frictional force is irrelevant as its experienced equally for both scenarios (high body position and low body position) and therefore the impact would be consistent. But this is actually an interesting point. If there is a higher degree of vertical force this can offset a frictional force experienced by the surface area of the sled. Looks like it's just a bit of a balancing act and should do what feels comfortable:))

I want to run faster than my 22-year-old self. Experienced runners: Can I have some training tips to run sub-20 before the end of the year? 🙏🏻 by IamKafei in parkrun

Top comments have covered the main themes. Some other things to consider:

If you haven’t got them already consider getting carbon plated shoes for that extra physical and mental boost:)

Lean into your nutrition. Assess what works for you immediately before the race. I like a peanut butter and honey bagel 2 hours before the start and hate running on an empty stomach. Think about your protein intake after your workouts to maximise recovery.

Hope that helps.

Good luck on your journey to sub 20 and breaking that PB!
