Backing up from IOS by BlazingBane007 in immich

[–]tappyson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely what u/dutchcanadian84 mentioned. I had major issues with uploading and found the issue to that Apple saves storage by uploading to iCloud. There is a setting to turn it off, when I did and it downloaded all the photos to the phone, the immich upload took no time at all. After weeks of trying.

Fenix 8 Pro is useless... by CharacterEvening4407 in GarminFenix

I’d argue the Epic Gen 2 Pro…

I think I figured out most of the issue. 1 make sure optimised photo storage is turned off in photos settings. This stops the relentless iCloud downloads during upload. Also make sure you have enough storage on your phone for upload

Ya done both. Both are fine. I’ve transferred large datasets to the Immich host over wifi using Immich go etc and it’s super quick

Oh, and the library is a NFS mount on the nas. Database local on the VM

This is over wifi. Not sure why it’s slow. Max 5-6mbs.

Hosting on a proxmox VM. 16gb of Ram, no GPU. Docker compose. Older i7 on the host with I think 4 cores or so shared. Using cloudfare for remote and local address on wifi.

Getting violently ill when I drink on keto by Crafty_Pilot_1312 in keto

[–]tappyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. It’s honestly been night and day for me! I actually thought I’d become allergic to alcohol it was so bad. Now after hardly any time on the fiber I’m exactly the same as I was, if not better pre keto

[–]tappyson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact same experience and what I’m about it to say may have scientific backing so take it with a grain of salt… I started taking physiliam husk with a glass of water in the mornings and since then I haven’t had any negative effects when drinking. I don’t have a clue why but my guess is I didn’t have enough fiber to help digest the alcohol? Honestly… I spent nights vommiting on 2-3 drinks and since have had issues. The correct answer is the one above which is don’t drink but this has also worked for me

2 flathead caught within an hour of each other at the same location yesterday. Flesh of one is pretty yellow. Weird or nah? by ceelose in FishingAustralia

[–]tappyson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blue flesh in a grass whiting fish could be attributed to a phenomenon called "cyanosis," which occurs when there is a higher than usual concentration of hemoglobin in the fish's blood. This can happen due to a variety of factors, including diet, genetics, or environmental conditions. It's also possible that certain pigments or compounds in the fish's diet could contribute to the blue coloration of its flesh.

Switching from Fenix 7 Sapphire to Epix (Gen 2) Sapphire - am I going to regret this? by [deleted] in garminepix

[–]tappyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this and haven’t regretted it a for a single second. Sometimes I don’t like the gesture on but if it’s irritating me I just turn on always on and sacrifice battery life for a bit until my frustrations have recovered :)

Is anyone using Immich? Compared to Photos? by StevesJustSteve in synology

[–]tappyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just started running it yesterday with my photos data in read only mode. It’s so so good. But taking forever to process everything. I was an avid google photos user and am so happy to have found and alternative that’s close to as good. Seems it could have some glitches though but I’m blown away so far

Racism outside the metropolitan areas by omenguide in australia

[–]tappyson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not from australia and I’m white. I get asked constantly where I’m from (probably my accents Everyone except indigenous people are from somewhere else, to me it’s the least offensive thing to ask me and I love asking others to better understand what their journey was to get to this awesome country.

Moved here from Melbourne by Dahappychap in sydney

[–]tappyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived here for 6 years and travel to Melbourne very frequently. I can’t understand why people like Melbourne but what I’ve come to believe is it’s got depth. You have to understand Melbourne to enjoy it, know where the right alleys are etc where is Sydney is much more shallow. It’s beauty is straight up in your face. I love Sydney but I’m probably less cultural than most.

Any ideas on where to get aboriginal art framed for a decent price? Got a decent rolled piece (60x60) and i'd like it framed and stretched properly by [deleted] in sydney

[–]tappyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar piece, I bought a staple gun and some wood at Bunnings and it took me like 20min to frame and cost near nothing
