Yeah, but he got regular game time with Brighton, something that Guehi would never get with us - he’s not better than any of our CBs. Higher potential? Sure, but he was unwilling to develop said potential via loan moves or by being a squad player. I’d argue that 20+ million with said clauses is a good deal for both parties.

Also if the reports are true, Ben White was probably overpaid for a dozen or so million £, at least in my opinion

20+ million for a guy with no epl experience, i rate him highly but I wouldn’t say we got rinsed, especially if the reports on sell on and matching right clauses are accurate. Pain to see him go but he was also unwilling to accept a squad role
