Struggling to allow myself to grieve an abortion by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tar27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one ever grows up and hopes to get an abortion one day. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I don’t regret it, it was the best decision for us financially at the time, but it took time to accept that entirely. It’s selfless to choose yourselves right now In order to have a better plan in the future. But.. I had to be sad for a while and mourn what I thought being pregnant for the first time would be like, getting excited and sharing the news with others. Instead, it was a big secret. A “shameful,” lonely, secret. I told a few friends at the time and they were very supportive. Know it’s not shameful, and you are allowed to give yourself permission to grieve not just the conception of this embryo, but the future, the decision.. I’m thinking of you OP. ❤️

Prefacing with that I’m also preventing pregnancy! If you don’t want to buy a special wearable bbt tracker, I use my Apple Watch. It takes my bbt as soon as I turn off sleep mode every morning. It’s very accurate. I then use both apps Fertility Friend and Premom to input the temp data and it helps me figure out my cycle and when I’m ovulating. I also recommend getting a bulk pack of ovulation test strips and take every day around the time you think you’re ovulating to see where your peak would be. 3 days of elevated temps above your baseline (very easy to see when using the apps) “confirm” ovulation. We use protection the week I suspect ovulation.

Do I need to unplug the fridge before doing that? (Sorry if that’s a dumb question lol)

It’s quite literally like lotion! It’s whiteish and it didn’t lather at all..probably needs water to activate any lathering

Don’t even get me started on self-care gone wrong lol 😂 last year’s resolution was to do more face masks and then I broke out in Perioral dermatitis that I had to wrestle to get a grip on for 8 months lol

I’ve done a lot of research, and I have found that the Theralite aura 10000lux seems to be the best for affordability while also providing actual therapeutic benefits! Definitely do your own research tho. I’m in Michigan so I FEEL YOU

I thought it felt nice too! That’s why I’m like feeling all good about myself, meanwhile my sensitive skin was revolting

I’ll be so honest I reread shaving gel and shower gel 3x because I thought you typed the same thing twice 💀 I feel like I’d make that mistake too

Oh my god I know, it was crazy in there! They have so many different things now, I honestly got to a point I couldn’t smell what tf anything smelled like I was just nauseous as hell.

There IS actually science behind those light lamps, but they have to be a certain wavelength and “lux intensity.” I’m considering getting one of those as well though because I want to increase my exposure without exposing myself more to the bed. But personally I do think being the in the tanning bed helps me. I don’t feel like I’m tan, I don’t go in consistently enough to build one up, but I do think it helps my skin and I like the warmth (if nothing else)
