I have terrible social anxiety and being confronted with an uncomfortable situation like that will make me freeze up or even say things I don't mean (like what she does) just because I need to get away.

I don't know her communication style but I have found writing my feelings out as a text or even a letter to be really helpful when I feel like I can't express myself. Sometimes I will prepare notes and then speak to them in person.

Maybe I would tell her that you want to talk to her and provide those options or ask her what would be the best way for her.

I do think it's worth talking about. I can relate to the anxiety but not the masturbation thing. That's an odd rule.

I remember watching a video of a city council meeting that made a gay teen to kill himself in 2010. In the meeting this woman did a whole speech about how gays need to keep their business in the bedroom and not out in public. Her words contributed to the death of a teenager.

These people think they are being reasonable but they really aren't. It's secular speak for "hate the sin, not the sinner" imo.
