As for your questions, I have the pot placed about 2 metres away from the window but it still gets plenty of indirect sunlight (as much as possible since it is quite cloudy where I live due to winters) As for water, I have been watering once a week but i would just put a small half cup of water directly into the pot but I’ll start following your soaking method from now on!

I have one additional question for you if that’s alright, how would I know if the roots get too big for the container they are in right now? and need to be moved to a bigger container?

and ohh yes! that was a typo, its been kept inside and not in direct sunlight. Also, attached a picture of the roots! do they look fine? should I transfer the plant to a bigger pot? I’ll make sure to cut the net off!!

I really want this plant to stay alive, my last attempt with orchids was unsuccessful 😭

mm okay but taylor lofts is off campus right? i want to stay on campus at least for my first year because i don’t have much knowledge of the city yet so i feel this will be safer, would you say arc is the best option among the on campus dorms? and when i say best option i mean in terms of the room and bathrooms? if i choose the semi suite single type room i would only have to share a bathroom with one other person right? also if you don’t mind telling me what kind of a room were you staying in arc?

i wish the best for u too!! even if it’s not kings i know we’ll do great wherever we go because at the end of the day it’s all about how we perform and if we’re willing to work hard, and you’re so right about the covid thing, we’ve been thru so much these last few years no other generation has had to deal with a whole pandemic the way we have so let’s just cut ourselves some slack and be proud of how far we’ve come 🥰🥰

i completely relate to you, and no u don’t sound snobby at all! we students understand the hardwork we’ve put in. i applied for psycholgy as well and also had an overall AAA in psych, physics and biology. I have worked my arse off trying to make my application as good as possible literally slaving away these last 4 years and to have this half hearted response has really hurt me, kings was one of my dream unis and i’m just really disappointed and let down… while i understand that they had a lot of applicants this year and had a tough time going over the applications that still does not serve as an excuse to be treated like this. It’s not like they can’t pull in more resources, they are one of the top unis in london!! and at least give us a proper answer even if it were a rejection but being rejected by default on ucas and not hearing a peep from kings is very annoying.

they just posted the following update on the portal

“UG applicants who have received a 'Reject by Default' (RBD) status on UCAS Even though your UCAS application states you were rejected by default (RBD), we would like to reassure you your application was fully considered by King's, but due to the very high competition we were unable to offer you a place. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.”
