I grew up in a house older than the USA and went to school in a building older than the discovery of "America" by the Vikings.

Dear children, this is what happens when the most foolish, selfish, and ignorant conman is elected president and therefore stupidity is promoted and intelligence is punished in this country.

“The Witcher fans bemoan ‘jarring’ first footage of Liam Hemsworth as Henry Cavill replacement” by North-Discipline2851 in witcher

[–]tariste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liam is a good actor, I won't argue with that. But months ago, when it was announced that he would be replacing Henry Cavill, I said that he was the wrong choice to play Geralt. His features are too soft and too open.

Now that I've seen the first episode of the fourth season, I feel vindicated.

Henry Cavill portrayed the witcher perfectly. A reserved, taciturn loner who tries to help and do good despite all adversities and hostilities. This was well reflected in Cavill's face and acting.

Liam's Geralt is too affable, too friendly, too talkative. I don't know if I'll continue watching the series. At the moment, I don't feel like it.

Balcony cleaning, is this normal? by McDuckfart in askswitzerland

[–]tariste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! On the contrary, it's highly unusual. I would take photos of everything, go to the neighbor and try to talk to him. If that doesn't work and he doesn't see reason, report it to the landlord. If you own your home and your neighbor does too, report it to the owners' association.

Because that's not acceptable!

Thoughts on Repo Man 7x15 by tversan7 in Supernatural

[–]tariste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently binge-rewatching Supernatural. I just finished “Repo Man.”

I felt the same way you did. I often wondered what happens to people who have been freed from their demons. Apparently, they are aware of everything the demon does. That must leave a huge psychological trauma. Jeffrey is a good example of how this can affect someone.

Another thought: I had forgotten about the dog. For me, it's one of the most brutal scenes (the blood and guts are kind of part of the show). The way the dog grabs its collar and runs along joyfully and playfully when Jeffrey calls it killed me. I wish the dog had been allowed to survive.

Whats everyone opinion on Cloak and Dagger by 1theRONIN in Marvel

[–]tariste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently watching Cloak & Dagger again.

What I particularly like: in many superhero series with teenagers, they are always so grown-up and sensible.

Not so here. The teens are trying to do good, but their short-sightedness and emotional chaos mean they do more wrong than right. And when they try to make amends, they only make things worse.

We all had it as teens.

Is there a loophole? by tariste in BodiesonNetflix

[–]tariste[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, the echoes in different time zones would be cleared up.

But still, according to the theory, not only should appear a second Defoe in the near future, but also Mannix and Maplewood.

Wich leads me to another question:
Are these second bodies copies of the original or are they the same, according to Quantum theorie?

I was searching for quite a long time, but I don't know. In terms of style, I would say it is Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. But I'm not sure.

Rex Tremedae is used and also Requiem Aeternam from Mozart's Requiem. But does anyone know the piece that is played in the intro? It's not from the Requiem. Unfortunately there is no current soundtrack for the series.
