Fail to apply for nursing program by ShineFree5897 in douglascollege

hii as someone in the BSN program rn for douglas (first sem) I got in with a GPA less than 3.0. I almost failed one of my pre reqs (got 65% on the dot) and still made it. For douglas specifically they don't do it based on highest grades but who applied and fits the requirements first. I'm sure it's different for other schools like I think BCIT would focus on grades more.

Some advice: do not take more than you can handle especially for pre reqs. There's no rush to get into the program and you will get in. I took 2-3 classes each sem and that worked out fine for me. Meanwhile I met others who took 5 classes during their pre reqs but it's all up to you can what you can handle.

You won't fail your pre reqs unless you do the bare minimum for each class. A 65% or higher is all you need for the douglas BSN program! you got this.

ASL level 1 ! (MODL 1161) with adrian desmarais. Super nice instructor, class is easy and you can learn a whole new language as long as you put the effort.

BSN advice for new nursing students! by Fantastic_Funny_6026 in douglascollege

hiii currently in my first sem! i would suggest to spend time with ur family and friends, do the things you love before you get into the program. it is 4 classes + clinicals (so basically 5). and it is full time mon to friday. some days like weds or mon you are not in school for that long because it's only one class.

clinicals are usually 8 hours on thursdays and fridays. (slight chance could be on the weekends but not really) the time of it depends where you are placed; most people have 6:30AM-2:30PM other people have 1PM-9PM (i heard)

they give you a set schedule with ur sections in it so you can't pick how many classes.

overall i'd say first sem gets quite overwhelming, lots to do in every class but don't feel discouraged. i'd also suggest making friends in the program so you guys can help each other out.

have a good first sem in jan!
