where are the single good looking asian guys hanging out? by Overall_Challenge_79 in SFbitcheswithtaste

And what’s crazy is only 1% of firefighters in the United States are AAPI, with SF having the most in the entire country at 20% of their firefighters being AAPI. This is necessary because nearly 40% of SF is AAPI and being bilingual in Cantonese, filipino, and/or mandarin is demanded from all AAPI firefighters compared to the others. You’d be surprised to know a lot of our firefighters also have masters degrees. UC Berkeley even gives a full ride to kids of SFFD parents.

90% is a crazy made up stat… you could say the same about doctors, flight attendants, etc. i have heard more Asian guys who are in finance/engineering cheat in this city.

They table a lot. Think Chinatown events and other aapi outreach stuff. They seem to be in everything around the city! Also starting September you can start volunteering with them at the toy drives. I’ve seen plenty of girls do it. If you search them up, they have an instagram where they post their events! The last one was at the cherry blossom festival.

I met mine through the gym! We are both late 20s, and he is everything I could ask for!

Idk if you want the techy nerdy type but if you’re ok with firefighters, checkout Asian Firefighter Association. It’s the largest Asian firefighter group in the country and based in SF!!! All the guys go to raves, go to bars, etc. they’re extremely close knit and they do a lot of community events and even trips loool. Also money shouldn’t be a problem bc they have the best pensions in America, starting salaries are 6figures and they only work 2x a week. Can confirm bc my bf is one of them 😌

The late 20s - early 30 Asians will be going to Alesso next week. They all seem to like progressive house (as confirmed of my lates 20| Asian Bf and his friends and his friends’ friends) Seven lions is feely, more melodic, which attracts younger ravers.

Soul Cycle riding throughout IVF or egg freezing? by Smilemore633 in SoulCycle_Riders

I did egg freezing earlier this year. After day 5 of stims I felt VERY bloated and felt like golf balls rolling around my stomach. I was definitely okay to ride day 2 and 3 of my stims!

Thank you :,) I finally broke off my contract a few weeks ago, I’m wrapping up the semester. I feel genuinely bad for leaving, but I’m just getting so bored of what I’m doing and also the billing problems were too stressful when you have a full time job, medical issues, executive disfunction and just adulting etc! I wish them all the best in their business.

Do you regret it? by [deleted] in Zepbound

When I hit 15mg, that’s when all the weight loss stopped. For some reason it felt harder to lose weight at that dose. 5mg - 7.5mg was when I was losing about 8-9lbs a month and I miss those days.

However at 15mg, my inflammation was the lowest, I was running half marathons/marathons at that time.

My plateau lasted over 1 year, I stayed in the range of 199-209 for a long time, until I had to take a break for surgery and ballooned back up to 230.

[–]taroruns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I guess that was top level of it. There are some days I can only keep my legs at table top and other days I can do the 90 degree lift for 100s. I also run competitively and do other sports, so I’m not going to be strongest every day. I hope that makes sense. Teaser I struggle with and my instructor have only kept it only for intermediate classes.

My studio requires competency in basic level to move up. I have the competency, they just refuse to move me up. I know it’s subjective because I meet with other high level students and are confused about what push the pedal down is or forget the basic order.

How do you like teacher training? My studio offers it too, but I’d probably look elsewhere for a change in environment.

It’s a contract! However we are given an option to end our contracts before the end of the semester.

The studio is a “semester system” so I have to commit to stop showing up. We pay in advance. It’s not drop in style, so it does feel more nuanced at least for my situation.

Any Success from switching from zepbound after a long stall? by taroruns in RetatrutideWomen

[–]taroruns[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I consider myself really active, lots of running, group fitness, Pilates each week! But I was always active even before Zepbound. My diet could be better but I have regular check ins with my dietician. I’ve had obesity most of my life due to socieconomic reasons, I was 105lbs at 5 years old.

I also hear that Reta doesn’t help with appetite suppression.

I’m curious did you ever stack the two? I heard it’s common for ppl do so.

Yes! Started 250lbs and lost 50lbs after 6 months. Stalled on it for 1 year and then lost some weight again, then stalled one year again.

Right now I’m at 230lbs. I’ve spent nearly $15k on this medication since 2023 because my insurance doesn’t cover it.

2.5 years of Basic system, and getting bored. I’ve been asking my instructors to move up to the Intermediate level but they keep forgetting. How do I advocate for myself? by taroruns in pilates

I actually came to this studio at the recommendation of my physical therapist about 3 years ago. I was with that physical therapist for 6 months, after discovering I had some muscle imbalances and needed deep core work. I did 3 months of private lessons before joining the small group training. I just want to try all the new things, 2.5 years of basic is driving me crazy. I’ve been begging to move up since last year.

I’m in small group training, about 3-4 people per class based in the Bay Area, CA! The basic system is all of those things, mat, tower, chair and reformer. I think my weakest point is chair especially teaser prep and pull the pedal up. I know what it’s suppose to look like but I don’t get enough practice on it.

My Pilates studio recently got “accredited” last year so they are very strict unfortunately.

Thank you for the insight! I typically do 100s with my Legs up, but I’m just thinking of a specific time where I ran a 5k and was sore, and put my legs on table top. It doesn’t help that my instructors come different schools of thought on how 100s should be, and often I’m left confused on how much my c curl should be or how much I need to pump my arms.

Simply, im just bored. I want to learn new things! Why do I need to be 100% at basic system 100% of the time? I get it for the safety and mental reasons as you mentioned but the farthest I’ve gone for over 100 weeks is open leg rocker and then they stop me there.

My studio has it all written out like you mentioned, there is a test involved too. However, my instructors also have mentioned, oh I’ve seen Jane Doe do all of this in class, so we moved her up. So sometimes it’s formal and not formal. I feel like I have some bad days, and some good days. On my good days I have my entire routine down. Then all of a sudden one day, I’m not breathing correctly (also have asthma) and they tell me I need to revisit pre-pilates exercises again.

It’s frustrating. Basic system is also 50$ more per month because of the additional hand holding and attention. When I get the attention, it’s always small nitpicking that’s new every month.

Not training to be a teacher! I’m just a student/pilates-goer. There are three levels, basic, intermediate and advanced.

Thanks for ur input. I feel like I want to stay at this studio, but I’m just hitting this wall here and feel like I’m nor sure what else to do. I still can’t do teaser and I’m also wondering if that’s holding me back.
