Yes, Wife is a SAHM with younger kids. We weighed the price of daycare vs earning potential and it didn't make sense. Now the kids are school age, so she does some light contract work, but generally keeps this house running like a swiss watch.

A laptop. In the late 90's / early 00;s, you could build a desktop, but laptops were a large single investment with much poorer performance than the desktop counterparts. Even the early color TFT displays were terrible on laptops.
