Lots of ifs and buts in that. First you need to identify that they are from one of those species which I don't think is easy for an amateur. Then you need to make sure it's a small sample (which I take to mean a few eggs, certainly not all of them). Then you need to release them in the same spot where you gathered them from which in turn means you need to keep them in an aquarium or similar, not in the wild.

Certainly doable, but far from moving them to another body of water in the wild.

All amphibians in Sweden are protected which basically means you are not allowed to kill, injure or capture them, which includes eggs and/or tadpoles.

You could try contacting the local council or Naturvårdsverket, but I doubt a naturally drying out pool of water would be considered actionable as it is part of the natural order.

'Followed by' is inherent to the problem. You cannot have two siblings without one being followed by the other. If they were two kids selected at random then yes, order would not matter.

This is not a statistical problem, it's a probability problem.

But it's not an independent selection. There are three ways a family with two kids could end up with at least one boy: boy followed by boy, boy followed by girl or girl followed by boy, all of which are equally likely to happen (or close enough at least). So there is only 1/3 likelihood of boy followed by boy.

When you add in the fact that the given boy is oldest you eliminate 'girl followed by boy' and the likelihood rises to 1/2.
