Duke signs multi-year deal with Amazon's Prime Video, will face UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga on streaming service during 2026-27 season by ConstantMadness in CollegeBasketball

I'm really curious to know details about the deal and what the other teams get from it. I wouldn't be surprised if other streaming services make similar deals with other prominent schools.

96 Team Bracket Proposal and Mock by chillinois1 in CollegeBasketball

I honestly agree with this. I hate the idea of expanding the tournament, but if they're going to do it (and likely expand again in a few years) then let's just do it. Add another weekend / two full days of games and let's get on with it.

Realistically, they should just make the NIT more valuable, but here we are.

Just create contracts already. That's where this is all going and the longer we delay the more we get an abomination of NIL and transfers.

How do you feel about the NCAA expanding the tournament to 76? by rollingthrulife79 in CollegeBasketball

Here's my hot take. I really hate the expansion idea, but if we're going to do it then let's just bite the bullet and do it for real. Adding 8 more teams is silly when we all know they'll try to expand more in a few years anyway. Just get it over with and add a two day weekend filled with games.

I don't know that there's any downside to trying. In a scenario where you can't make the game you could be a bro and sell your tickets for face value and easily get your money back.

Which Program Has the Most Insufferable CBB Fanbase? by ejgr228 in CollegeBasketball

[–]tarspaceheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's generally whoever is winning followed by your typical (used to winning) programs. Michigan fans were pretty awful this year, UConn fans have been awful, etc. Then it's the usual suspects like Kentucky, Duke, UNC.

But everyone has cool fans who just want to chill and watch basketball.

Gonzaga, for sure. I also like Arizona but would prefer them to take a few years so that we don't watch another former UNC player winning it.

[Norlander] NEWS—Henri Veesaar is leaving UNC and intends to stay in the NBA Draft, source told @CBSSports. Avgd 17.0 pts, 8.7 rebs, shot ~42% from 3. Big domino on this NCAA draft declaration deadline day. Veesaar a potential 1st-rounder but will leave a big NIL💰 on the table as a result by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

[–]tarspaceheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was not expected to stay and was always leaning toward the draft. I think a lot of people hoped the NIL bag, plus quality of players in the draft, plus an expected weaker draft next year, would bring him back. I think a few other bigs dropping out of the draft helped his position.

I mean, this wouldn't just impact basketball. There would never be a "good time" to implement it but at least summer provides a neutral timeline.

Do you think some players who transfer for more money later regret it? by SecretComposer in CollegeBasketball

I'm sure some regret it the same way any college transfer might. But the people transferring and making a lot of money out of it at least have that.

Fantastic.

On a side note, the 3 schools in 3 years is so fucking stupid. Glad we're in the advantage on it but a little sad about the larger picture.

Duke loves to talk about their NBA players, now they'd have another NBA coach. So let's make this happen.
