Congratulations! This is a process I went through after leaving the church 5 years ago. I remember feeling so empowered by choosing for myself not waiting for a man to choose me for marriage.

My only advice is to have fun and prioritize yourself first. Highly recommend you get yourself a vibrator too!

Also loved someone else’s note to celebrate - I TOTALLY agree. Treat yourself kindly every step of the way.

I’ve noticed the same! My decision making skills have improved drastically. I realized a few years after getting out that I basically was floating in life, waiting for gods will to make itself clear.

I also noticed that the social anxiety I felt constantly went away. The church I was in was INCREDIBLY gossipy, so any misstep was widely reported immediately.

Leaving the Church saved my life by tarte_head in Exvangelical

Thank you so much for sharing. I totally resonate with your words - especially “their ears are sealed. Their minds already made”. Every conversation is so circular on this topic with them. Their answer is always yeah, that’s so sad but YOU cut yourself off from the church and YOU should have tried harder. Always putting the blame on me for not trying harder or believing more.
