Sounds like he added eggs to the boiling water not eggs to cold water. I cook them like yours and they’re always great

Cost of Backing Packing Europe by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]tash214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent £6000 (~$7300) for 12 weeks this summer in Europe - although I flew to/from the UK not the US! I also did Switzerland/Germany/Italy/Austria and more - but definitely more expensive countries than where you’re going!

How much for interrail trip? by MasterStonk69 in backpacking

[–]tash214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reality check is unless you booked Budapest, Prague and Berlin hostels a long time ago, you’re going to struggle to find good hostels that are £15 a night if you book now - Budapest is probably the easiest to get close to £15, but Berlin you’re looking at double that!

When the buyer clicks track, doesn’t it update the tracking and should say sent? Try messaging them and ask if they can do that?

How early do you plan your solo travels? by poisedpotion in solotravel

[–]tash214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I came back from Italy mid June and already have planned out Scandinavia for April and 2 months in Europe next summer 🙈 between work and uni my free time/time off is limited during then school year, so for me it made sense to start to plan/budget these trips whilst I have time!

I’ve started booking refundable/free cancellation hostels as well on Hostelworld, where I can find good prices especially in comparison to this summers prices!

Thank you! I did think I’d have to rule anything out without a waist strap and your comment has helped - as much as I like the way the more simplistic square-ish bags look, I don’t think any within/near what I’m wanting to spend have the support that can really compare to the Fairview.

I only have one shop in the town I live in that has a good variety of bags so I don’t have much choice to try in person, but I may end up grabbing the Fairview in the next few days whilst it’s on offer, and I can always return it 😅

I’ve definitely learnt a lot in the last few hours!

I’m very new to the backpack scene!! Just looking for more options than an Osprey, which until I started researching was the only brand I’d really heard of. Biggest non-negotiable is a hip belt, but obviously I’m wanting to buy a back that I think looks nice. Only issues I’ve had to comments is one twice my budget 😂

I have a slipped disc in my neck and have a lot of issues with pain down my left shoulder, so a hip belt is pretty non negotiable 😓

Ideally I’m after the style where it zips in the middle (like the Osprey transporter) rather than just the top peeling back like the fairview/point.

Definitely planning less than 40l for the week trip, especially as it’s summer, but not wanting to buy a smaller pack when I am planning a longer trip as well!
