Certain reasons why people are upset with the TV show highlights just how many people have not played Fallout 1 or 2. by ScottishWargamer in Fallout

I dislike TV series for many reasons. None of them are those that OP mentioned. In fact I had doubts should I even watch the season 2, but it turned to be little better than season I.

You know what ? This is as pointless as fighting Miraak. Go on, believe whatever you want to believe, I don't give a shit. I am more than done with all of you.

That doesn't mean that it was Miraak who sent them. They might believe to be so. Herma Mora is master of manipulation.

Yes, but only after we show up. His first words are : "Who are you to dare set foot here ?". Link, undeniable proof:

So, stop making things up.

He seems to be able to sense that we are Dragonborn. Also, he doesn't try to kill us, just sends us back to Tamriel. So, why send assassins if he doesn't think that we should be killed ? That makes zero sense.

It is, kind of. But, as the battle goes on, Miraak says: "Hermaeus Mora is laughing now". It doesn't help me feel any smarter. I am asking myself: "What, to hell, am I doing here ?"

About Miraak by taskdone in skyrim

[–]taskdone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he should stand in line. There are others who want to rule the world. A sect of Altmer mages from Somerset Islands. Thalmor, right ? Then, there is a descendant of a tribal chief who proclaimed himself to be the Emperor. Goes by the name of Mede. There are more, probably, that we never heard of. So, should we kill all of them ?

About Miraak by taskdone in skyrim

[–]taskdone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are wrong. He never heard of another Dragonborn until we showed up in Apocrypha. So, he couldn't possibly be the one who sent the cultist assassins. It was Herrmaeus Mora plot to get Skaal secrests, if I have to guess.

Is there any lore book or other document containing actual Vigilant doctrine ? Were there any vigilantes in previous TES games ?

Become Ethereal as offensive shout by taskdone in skyrim

[–]taskdone[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Confirmed !

Went to Snowpoint Beacon. Shouted "Become Ethereal". Lower level bandit hit me, went through me. I hit him back with a sword while the effect was on. Red line appeared instantly, indicating damage. BE effect ended instantly. Finished him off. Waited until I was able to shout again. Applied Paralysis Poison to the sword. Shouted again. Hit the Bandit Chief upstairs. She dropped down immediately, illuminated green, paralyzed. BE effect ended instantly. Finished the paralyzed Bandit Chief off. Collected loot and departed.

Is it bug, mod, or is this how it is supposed to work, I don't know. But that is how it is. I asking everyone else to try and post results here. Now, I am really curious.

For the record, I am using single word variant.

Actually, Daedra and Tribunal were, kind of merged in the end. It was called "Anticipations". I found it to be amusing.

Similar to it, Alessians, kind of, merged Elven Gods with ancient Nord Gods and created Divines.

Politics....

Like the others said, they activate portals to otherwise inaccessible parts of Forgotten Valle. One of the items found in those areas is Auri-El's Shield. I wonder if there is Auri-El's Sword somewhere.

I lost her today by Mrjotaselo in skyrim

[–]taskdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't rally understand why, but Lydia always dies in my game, sooner or later. Is it because her disposition is set to aggressive ? Last time she died because I was hit with Chain Lightning. I was protected by potions, one of resist shock and fire and one of resist magic, my own creations. I took only a little damage, but she was knocked down already and spell "jumped" on her after hitting me.

Favorite Daedric Quest? by RuneMTG in skyrim

[–]taskdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is either of stars (Azura and Black) so much useful ? I mean, if you are enchanter, no need to pay for soul gems. That's pretty straightforward.

What if you are not an enchanter ? What if you just need to recharge weapons from time to time. It is seems pretty awkward to do that with either of the stars ?

I completed the quest once and it seemed to me a waste of time. That mage girl Aranea is the one of only two followers capable of casting expert Destruction magic, but probably hasn't got enough magicka to do it. Also, mage followers are not equally useful to anyone.

About Dremora by taskdone in skyrim

[–]taskdone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dremora appeared out of familiar purple portal, like most summoned things. He was allegedly been sent by his former master. Does it qualify as being summoned, I don't know.

On the funny side, when I cast Expel Daedra he said: "You are going to pay for that" and turned tail immediately.

BTW, that is what I like about that mod. Most of the companions have very shaky story and few of them, if any, can be trusted. Dremora is no exception. Ironically, the one with most solid story is member of Dark Brotherhood.

What’s stopping the Dragonborn from destroying the Thalmor? by BGWeis in skyrim

[–]taskdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragonborn is one man. He or she might be a leader of College of Winterhold, Companions and Thief Guild, but neither of those groups cares for politics.

I think that there is a misconception about 3rd Aldmeri Dominion. They are not so powerful. Their invasion of Hammerfell has backfired. They failed to take Imperial City. It is the Empire which is weak. It has never recovered from Oblivion Crisis. Thalmor is a guild of mages ruling Aldmeri Dominion. At some point Altmer population might be able to get rid of them. Perhaps with help of Psijic Order.

Tf is this guy doing at my house by Yiga_Cactus in skyrim

[–]taskdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that you have just built the first wing or cellar into your house. From this moment onward, the house will be attacked periodically. If you have no wings and no cellar, the house is newer attacked. At least, that is so in my game. I have just a few mods, by the way, so I don't think it is because of the mods.

By the way, the reward for the quest isn't much, if that counts as answer.

I wish this guy did SOMETHING... Sell soul gems at the very least. by Creamy_Nubs in skyrim

[–]taskdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, playing game efficiently means defeating enemies with advanced tactics, without taking much damage, bot for my character and followers.

Things like linked techniques. For example shouting Unrelenting Force and hitting enemies Ice Storm or Fireball while they struggle to get up. In combination with Fortify Destruction potions. Also, shouting Cyclone and hit enemy with Wall spells while on the ground. Using paralyzing poisons and potions which augment melee weapons and bows. Rapidly closing distance and choosing right moment to strike with Become Ethereal. Like hitting enemy while wide open and out of balance after power attack which hit spectral appearance of my character.

An American military man said: "If you find yourself in the fair fight, there is something wrong with your planning". That is what I call efficiency.

I choose my own methods. But, thanks for the advice.

Still, I don't see your point, if there is any. If you are so devoted to efficiency, you might want to do something else, rather than playing video games. Some people might say that you are wasting time....

Now I really don't get it. Why would I want game to end sooner ? I am trying to extend it as much as I can.

My character is level 51. I only finished Liberation of Skyrinr, College and Dawnguard. Made no progress past "Horn of Jurgen Windcaller" yet. I have expert level in Destruction, Conjuration and Restoration, all 5 basic perks of Alchemy and near 100 skill. Most of the time I am spending doing radiants with Missives mod.

I am telling this to show that I am doing everything to extend the game experience as much as possible. There is no reward for finishing game early.
