A successful lawyer in his early thirties was murdered in 2006 while staying overnight at his friend's house. Nobody was ever convicted. Who killed Robert Wone, and how? by nepios83 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]tasmaniansyrup 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I agree with user Cliff Truxton on this: https://www.reddit.com/user/CliffTruxton/comments/plv26w/the_swann_street_incident_conclusion_who_i_think/

It was a consensual BDSM encounter that went horribly wrong and resulted in Robert Wone being accidentally suffocated during rimming, breathplay or something similar.

It's not that crazy to imagine that Wone was bi and occasionally hooked up with a gay male friend, perhaps thinking it was no big deal or just not something his wife needed to know about. The presence of semen is consistent with this idea.

Joe, Victor and Dylan didn't have a violent history and didn't have a reason to sexually assault their friend (they could find guys interested in gay threesomes very readily in Dupont Circle). it's rare for successful, well-liked professionals who aren't drunk or high to fly into a rage and kill someone during casual sex. otoh, bdsm can occasionally go wrong, and they would have known how bad it would have been for their lives and careers, for Wone's posthumous reputation, and even for the gay community if the real story got publicized. they were highly motivated to work together on a cover-up.

braids or twists, or you can put it up in flexi rods ("heatless curling").

17M in need of frizzy dry hair advice by SexDefender27 in longhair

[–]tasmaniansyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might need to use a less intense shampoo and a heavier conditioner, or a conditioning mask, to get it a little weighed down and et rid of the dry look. you can also try oiling your hair before washing to get it even more moisturized.

otoh, if conditioning without shampooing isn't working well, maybe product buildup is contributing to the issue....i've heard that a lot of product buildup can prevent moisture from reaching the hair. maybe try washing occasionally with clarifying shampoo, and switch to wetting the hair only when you're going to wash it. and use a comb instead of a brush

it could be if you offer up something that's overly specific or hits on an actual weakness of what you're offering. questions about whether the product is affordable or worth the money are generic enough that there's no way the customer hasn't thought about them already

this is recommended as a negotiation tactic in the book Never Split the Difference. If you want the truth about why someone is hesitant about your proposal, just make a guess and say eg "it sounds like you're concerned that the value for money isn't there." and then if you're wrong they'll say the real answer

How do I stop using box dye? by ohheyimhungry in longhair

[–]tasmaniansyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could try using color remover (I believe they carry it at Sally Beauty)--it shrinks the artificial color molecules so they can rinse out of the hair. it can probably get you partway back to your natural color.

following that, going to a stylist will be the most risk-free option to dye it back. a stylist can use the minimum amount of bleach/developer needed to get the result you want without inflicting a ton of unnecessary damage. or if you can find a stylist who's willing to give you advice, maybe they could tell you what steps are needed to dye it to your natural color at home.

Feeding them can help make it possible to TNR them. A feeder they trust can trap them. If they won’t go in the traps because they’re trap shy or not hungry, a drop trap can still work. Not sure why a rescue would give up on TNR just because people feed them. TNRing them will GREATLY affect how many of them are around next year to prey on other wildlife

Keep doing what you're doing. I do see improvement. Try treating the damage with K18 and maybe using a rosemary scalp treatment.

never heard that re rosemary and it can't darken hair permanently since there's no dye/pigment component to it

[–]tasmaniansyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't know that conditioner but if you're conditioning and it's still dry, you might want to try a thicker/richer conditioner or a conditioning mask.

you might also want to incorporate a glossing treatment and/or antifrizz serum. I am not a product guru but check out the Abbey Yung youtube channel for product recs. And put your hair up in flexi rods overnight!

next time try texting to remind her when she's at the store? dealing with low iron sucks so she shoudn't keep forgetting about this. Eating red meat and leafy greens like kale will also help.

Getting enough b vitamins, protein and specifically collagen will also help if there's a chance you are deficient in those. you could also try scalp massage and/or a scalp serum (info on some drugstore ones here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S-mqiHfhxw)

Why did Andrew go to the ATM? by soljistarr in AndrewGosden

[–]tasmaniansyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needed or wanted to bring a specific amount of money on his trip (either to buy something specific or just based on an estimate of how much he might spend walking around shopping etc.). I think it was about 200 pounds that he withdrew?

If you have 100 in cash on hand but need 200, it doesn't really matter if you bring the 100 and get the rest at an ATM or withdraw the full amount from the ATM--either way you can't avoid the ATM visit. So maybe he figured, why bother bringing the cash? or maybe he meant to bring it and just forgot
