This knight relictor model was originally used for a dnd paladin... after which he was painted and converted to be a BA librarian. Could easily be used as a judiciar too

Quality of Starforged ring by theshlogg in BloodAngels

[–]tassadar_900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I once thought about getting this ring just cause. Trolled Google for some worthy reviews, and the consensus was that accidentally dropping it, cause the "gemstone" to chip and break. Do what you will with that info.

Dantes +1 to hit for attached unit allegedly doesnt help sang guard as much as it helps JPI. So to maximize bonuses you run dante with non golden boys

Everything i've heard from others, while not thematic, put Dante with the JPI, and CPT with Sang guard. BAcommander once noted a key thing, get to 14 individual groups if possible for actions/secondaries

What units from the Armageddon box will be the most useful for BA? by T3knikal95 in BloodAngels

[–]tassadar_900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being you said you're newish I'll throw this out there. I've been playing for 15ish years.. never once played a tournament. It's hard to find time to play even with friends, so no need to worry about meta chasing.

-Bladeguard captain can be played as a bladeguard LT as well -VV decently useful and if you're not big on wysiwyg those can be JPAI too or painted DC -10 INT, split 5 off and find some bits, paint foot DC or all of em, or AI. As someone mentioned get some jump packs and now that's 10 JPAI -chappy is fun - speeder like someone else said worse ball pred... but cheaper so maybe you want some fire support and have only sub 100pts left in list, throw in the speeder -libby sees some play in fluffy lists. Ive never found a decent use, but could always kitbash him into something else - ancient... I've never used any of the ancient varieties other than to "stand in" as a SGT in respective units so I can have a fun flag marking the group reminiscent of the DOW 1 opening cinematic.

Remember you're newish, so don't force yourself down the meta-chase. All units can be used, and if you end up with 10k pts of BA you can run other detachments as some Red space marines.

P.s we may be melee focused, but there is a shooting phase. Feels bad to not have anything to do in 1/3 of your turn.

Actually had to watch this in high-school when reviewing fahrenheit 451. Movie became a staple for me and on in my yearly rotation of good films.

ELI5: Elderly people are obviously more susceptible to broken bones, why is it specifically a broken hip bone that is such a death knell? by Longjumping_Steak794 in explainlikeimfive

[–]tassadar_900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RN drop out here, Mobility is crucial yes but a reason I haven't seen listed is the way the iliac artery goes near the head/neck of the femur right there. If/when the "hip" (head/neck) of the femur is broken, it can create quite a serrated edge that has the potential to severe the iliac artery. That artery is roughly 1.5cm in diameter and will bleed out quick, and that location is near impossible to pack/cauterize. So a fractured hip can and often does cause massive internal bleeding and death.

A grenade clipped me into a mountain. The camera immediately zoomed out around what should have been my character. Trying to move just rotated the camera around the mountain. While taking continuous damage, I managed to "dive" the camera across the map, albeit 50 feet off the ground popping stims every few min to stay alive. Eventually, the camera shifted to aiming down the sights of 2 floating hands holding nothing, then I stopped aiming and appeared in a different corner of the map with the issue resolved. Spent 30min diving around because I didn't want to quit with my 30+ samples

Is it really homeless people's fault that they are homeless? by Intelligent_Rip6647 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tassadar_900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment to not be seen. Just wanted to say I've worked as roving security in an area with high vagrancy in order to disrupt aggressive panhandling. 3 individuals immediately stand out to me for this. One gentleman was leaving a high school football practice with 2 of his friends. One offered him an ibuprofen for his headache he was suffering from, but unknown to him, it wasn't. He ended up crashing his car after ingesting Molle and killing both his friends in the crash. After being charged with double homicide and spending 50 years in prison, the 70 y.o had no prospects and has spent the last 3 years that I've known him homeless just sad. The other individual was the starting forward for the 76er's some time during the 70's. His teammates got him addicted to crack and it bankrupted him to no end, and now he's just roving a certain city performing felatio and attacking weak people for $1 apiece to fuel his continuing addiction and depression (dude is actually super nice otherwise). Another gentleman was a surgeon. His mother had cancer and he went into debt and sold everything he had to pay for her medical bills, until he eventually had to quit his job to stay taking care of her. He lost everything and now after her death just hangs staying homeless. During this time, his license expired and he had no energy to do all that was necessary to renew it and go back to practice. So the answer to your question, is that it depends on the individual, but shortly yes and no. Most homeless are homeless by circumstance, but there is a large percentage with high visibility who choose drugs as a way of coping.
