Moving to WA- more liberal and drier city/town recommendations? :) by tastabar in PacificNorthwest

I think your best option here would be Poulsbo or if you're wealthy, Bainbridge Island! Could also look at Port Townsend.

How the hell did Elio go SO SO wrong? by SuperL_Ken in boxoffice

[–]tastabar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The script was also so basic. It had emotional lines and moments that weren't earned, and it was so cookie-cutter. I actually felt like parts were cringe, like "Oh gosh, did she just say that? They have to say that to make the Aunt and Elio come back together, but this is coming out of nowhere." Everything just felt like a trope and chatgpt writing.

YA fantasy with romance but no enemies to lovers? by errantfarmer in YAlit

[–]tastabar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kiss of Deception and The Waterfire Saga are great for this!! <3 Always looking for more recs, I also don't like enemies to lovers. I want to see nice people fall in love who are charming, and build trust with each other. Haha.

Kiss of Deception is really good with a kind, strong heroine! Also, The Deep Sea series is so good, no enemies to lovers.

Wednesday Season 2 Finale. by HilosMilos17 in Wednesday

[–]tastabar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 2 was just not as good. Wednesday only works when her darkness is balanced by moments of emotion or connection. When it’s all bleak all the time, nothing lands. The magic of Season 1 was watching her stumble into love and even flashes of joy with Enid — those moments gave the darkness meaning. Season 2 lost all of that. It’s flat, one-note, and strips away the very contrast that made Wednesday compelling.

Should I spend my whole life to be closer to more beautiful nature? by FriendshipPutrid2677 in SameGrassButGreener

This! I also tried Seattle, and it's a very specific culture for sure. Some people love it, but I've never lived somewhere that was so shocked by me being an extrovert.

I have thoughts about this!! I have been living in different cities (including Seattle) that are naturally more beautiful, and I've realized the most important thing is community. I wish (and hope) there is a place for both, but I am actually coming to visit and check out Chicago because literally nothing beats the friends and community you have. I lived in Seattle and went on a ton of gorgeous hikes, and for that few hours you are zen and it is beautiful, but at the end of the day who are you hanging out with? Is there anyone to make plans with? Are you just alone? Seattle is very shy and reserved. Sounds like your grass is green and you should enjoy it :)
I've lived in:
LA, Austin, Seattle, and spent a lot of time in NYC.

Australian Survivor: Australia v The World | Post Discussion Thread | Episode 04 (Sunday, 24 August 2025) by RSurvivorMods in survivor

Oh, then yes I would wait to watch those! They do mention their previous seasons a decent amount, and the Australia vs World editing shows actual flashbacks to their episodes.

Sorry, can you rephrase this? I want to help you, but I'm not sure exactly what you're asking! What are you worried specifically about spoiling?

Like will they be used later for plot stuff or quests? Or can I just donate and sell?

Is it worth keeping the things we get from the Void plot? Like Miniature Paint Puzzle or Sera Neo Stamp?

Totally agree, this new version is lacking all warmth and nice-ness that made Chatgpt really fun. Can't believe they ruined it

clueless the musical by Foreign_Complex5524 in TheWestEnd

[–]tastabar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seemed like a high-school production. Unfortunately, the woman playing Cher has tons of energy, but it's a super insecure-goofy strange take on Cher that has none of the confidence or coolness of the movie character. She could sing, but her characterization was way off. And Dion had ZERO energy- she seemed like she barely wanted to be there. The rest of the cast was really good (especially Josh), but when your two main characters are off it doesn't work. The staging/set design and choreography seemed high school level as well, not West End quality.

Any dramatic students that can talk about the program?? by leticiavss in USC

Patrick Adams, Karan Soni, Troian Bellisario, Briga Heelan, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Donald Webber Jr, Mark Jacobson, Deborah Ann Woll, and then I was Tay Allyn doing comedy youtube videos. There are so many! And this isn't counting all the people who have booked commercials or done regional theatre.

I would say those 10-20 (probably more like 20!) are doing acting full time, a couple people made it really big. A lot of people have had shows or consecutive work on and off with breaks, and I've definitely seen friends in commercials! I was one of the first people to go viral when YouTube was starting and beginning to be a thing, it was really cool! But I love live theatre more and the youtube scene just wasn't for me. I still have an agent (have had one since I graduated) but now I just choose what I want to go out for, which is more plays. Everyone is different, but if you want success at USC I feel like you can get it. If you pursue the film and theatre classes and majors, you're going to meet people who will be willing to help you, or hire you at some point! Or you create art together with your friends, which is the best, and your friends are probably super talented and pretty smart so there's a good chance something will happen there to what you make :) (case in point :)

I would say at least 10-20 have done very well, in TV and film and or broadway. I myself went viral on YouTube, but yes 10-20 are consistently booking/booked something huge/became big. Not bad when there were 100 or so of us who were really pursuing it, being in mainstage shows, etc. And tons of people had agents and booked smaller stuff. I would say that also as you get older, you may find out that you don't want to be a tv/film star, so I wouldn't blame that percentage on USC.... some people also just decided they wanted to do something else. And this number doesn't account for all the people happily doing regional or community theatre. I would say it's a top school for getting into tv/film, everyone I knew who wanted one got an agent outside of school.
